The All in WDW Readers’ Top 10(?) Epcot Attractions!

Have you recovered from our week-long crusade through every attraction and entertainment option that Epcot has to offer? I hope so.

For today, we’ll keep it easy. Have you caught the new drop-down link at the top of the page?  No?  Take a look.  I’ll wait.  It’s called Readers’ Top “10′s”.  Look at all those options!

Mrs. All in WDW and I often get asked, “We’re going to Disney.  Where should we stay?”

Or, “What are the must-do’s?

And, “Where should we eat?”

I love answering those questions, but we thought, ‘Why not let you, our readers, weigh in with your opinions?’  That’s why we created the All in WDW Readers’ “Top 10′s”!

If a family-member or friend wants to know where to stay, send them a link to this page!  We’ve already sorted through the various Disney-owned resort options for them!

Do they want to know what attractions to hit when they visit Epcot … or any one of the other parks?  Why not use our Top 10 favorites as a place to start?

The “King” of all Food-Fests! The “King” of Epcot!

I know you guys don’t have near as much desire as me to watch each day’s poll unfold, but I have to tell you … it can be really fascinating.

Take yesterday, for instance.  Food & Wine ripped off to an early and commanding lead.  I was shocked!  Why?

Well, if you took a look back at last year’s finale, you noticed that “the festival of all festivals” didn’t even attend the final 4-way dance.  Test Track was there in its place.

Therefore, it came into 2014’s “Final Four” as the only newcomer.  It even came into this year’s finale with the lowest overall vote total of the four competitors!  This “upstart” – this underdog – was going to unseat 2013’s terrific trio?

I guess so.  Food & Wine ran out to that early lead, and it never gave it back!

Food & Wine ’13

What’s my take on the result?  Well, you all know just how much I love Food & Wine.  I mean, All in WDW was born after the 2011 Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival.  Our first-ever post was titled, “An Affair with Food & Wine”!  I love this result, of course!

This is what I told Mrs. All in WDW yesterday.  As I considered my vote, my logic went like this … Epcot is our favorite park.  What makes us go to Epcot?

We don’t feel like we’re even in WDW until we smell Rome burning, so, let alone the park itself, Spaceship Earth is one of our overall favorite WDW attractions.

Mrs. All in WDW is partial to Soarin’®.  I enjoy the ride, but it isn’t one of my personal “must-dos”.  Frankly, I think it could use quite a bit of freshening up, so I can take it or leave it.  Sorry, Soarin’® fans out there!

We love to sit at an umbrella table in Italy, with a glass of wine in hand, while enjoying IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.  Last year’s “champ” is a family favorite, and we cringe every time rumors surface about its demise, replacement, or refurbishment.  Leave it alone, Disney!

Having said all that, we consciously plan trips to Orlando to attend the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival!  I even dedicate months of coverage to the attraction on All in WDW!  It has to be our personal favorite Epcot attraction!  It might even be our overall favorite WDW attraction!  But, that’s an issue for another day.

When it comes to our other three contenders, they did what they did in 2013.  They, pretty much, evenly split the vote.  And, ultimately, that was their undoing.  None of them could muster up enough support to catch the festival, and the food took the “crown”!

Congratulations to the “king” of all food-fests!  By upsetting the field, you have become the 2014 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction!

Thanks for your support in voting this week, my friends!  It was a grueling tournament, but I hope you had some fun.  Have a great week!  See ya’ tomorrow!

One Last Vote! It’s the Exciting, Excellent, Epic, Epcot Finale!

It’s been an amazing (could we say “arduous”?) week-long journey, but we’re finally here. We have arrived at the Exciting, Excellent, Epic, Epcot Finale!

As we charged through piles and piles of polls, did any of you stop back to visit last year’s final round? As always, your consistency amazes me! Go back and take a look.

Food & Wine 2013!

For today, just one task remains.  You have just one more excruciating vote to cast.

We’ve carved 74 attractions, special events, and entertainment options down to our “Favorite 4”.  All we need now is a “champion” … and the completion of our Top 10!  So, VOTE!  Tell your friends to vote!

Vote one more time, and we’ll reach the finish line!  It was a week worth of work, but it was worth the wait.

Which one of these epic Epcot attractions will become the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction?  Go ahead!  Vote!

The “Epic Epcot Eight”! No Easy Choices! Support Your Favorite!

Yes.  Support your favorites, my friends.  They really need you now!

We’ve wound ourselves down to our Top 8 Epcot attractions, and I have to tell you … there’s not an easy choice in either one of these groups.  In short, prepare yourself.  It’s going to be an excruciating selection.

To be as fair as possible, I sorted these “Epic Eight” by overall vote total for the entire “tournament”.  I, then, seeded them into groups as best as I could.  It was the only way for me to come close to defending myself from cries like, “Why did you put XX into the same group as YY?!”  Well, it was bound to happen eventually.

Like I said … there’s no easy choice here.  Hey, wait until tomorrow!  Then, we’ll be left with just four of these “darlings”.

By the way, keep in mind … those four will return in April to take on the Top 4 from the other three parks in our “World”-wide poll.  That’ll be a blast!

Oh, and, of course, these eight favorites make up 80% of the All in WDW Readers’ Top 10 Epcot Attractions!  Do you want a peak at attractions #9 and 10?

As always, based on overall vote totals for the entire competition, they are #9 – Turtle Talk With Crush and #10 – The Seas with Nemo & Friends®.

Interestingly, Mission: SPACE® and The Sum of All Thrills™ don’t even come close to the Top 10 … when you factor together all of the support they’ve received this week.  In fact, if you add both of their overall vote totals together, they would barely make this tournament’s Top 5!

Hmm.  How can two high-ticket, relatively new additions to the park be so under-appreciated when older stand-bys like Maelstrom and Living with the Land still draw us into their clutches?  Is there a message in there for you, Disney?

Everybody has their favorite.  Everyone is cheering for their beloved attraction to become the “ruler” of the entire Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.  Who will it be?  VOTE!  Support your favorite!

Epcot’s “Sensational Sixteen”! Vote!

Statistics. Statistics. Statistics.  As an old fantasy baseball blogger, I love ’em!  So, I thought I’d toss some at YOU!  Well, ones that apply to this competition, that is!

  • Total number of attractions: 74
  • Of that 74, number from Future World: 31

Observations?  The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats got two votes in the first round.  But, Reflections of China, Meet Mulan in China, and House of the Whispering Willows got NO votes?  Two votes for China?  Time for a full refurb?  Hmm.  Are you reading this, Disney?

And, speaking of refurbs.  With the exception of …
