A Taste of France – Serveur Amusant!

I don’t know about you, my friends, but Serveur Amusant is my favorite entertainment act in all of Walt Disney World.

Serveur

Seriously, folks.  When I stroll through World Showcase, and have the good fortune of stumbling upon this fantastic French duo, I can’t resist stopping to watch.

In fact, I’d go so far as to say I become mesmerized by their fabulous performance!

Serveur Amusant.  Synonymous with the most incredible of entertainment.  Is that too strong of a statement?  I don’t think so.  You?  Check them out on video … below!

Beware of the Bread Pudding! Dining Recon: Tambu Lounge!

Good morning, my friends!  Welcome to Monday!  I know.  Yuck!  Well, let’s remedy the Monday morning blues and start the week off in our “happy place”, shall we?

A few days ago, I posted this on Facebook … “One of the best lounges on property.  Highly recommend!”

img_3106

I was referring to the Polynesian’s Tambu Lounge, of course.  It has always been one of our “must do” spots.

On this trip, we learned a few things, however.  For example, up until 3:30 PM, you can order from Kona Cafe’s menu!  Evidently, that started back in March.

Wanting to take advantage of this, Mrs. All in WDW and I split one of my personal “Top 5” Walt Disney World meals.  Yes, the Pan-Asian Noodles with Chicken!  Delicious!

We also learned that ‘Ohana opens its doors for dinner at 3:30 PM now!  Well, that was a surprise – to us, at least.  Had we realized it, we might have passed on the noodles!

Mrs. All in WDW and I made the best of it, however.  You see, Tambu has been, for some time, serving late-afternoon and evening Guests ‘Ohana’s phenomenal Bread Pudding.

Can you believe we haven’t had any of this delectable, fantastic, tremendous, tasty, delicious dessert in years?!  It is as good as we remembered!  Drench it in Bananas-Caramel Sauce, folks!

As I mentioned, Tambu Lounge has always been a family favorite.  Now that you can get the best of both Kona and ‘Ohana as you relax and recreate your afternoon and evenings away, it’s better than ever!

Like I said above, “One of the best lounges on property.  Highly recommend!”

Mickey’s Roasted Sweet Corn? You Bet!

Short and sweet today, folks.  Pun intended!

One of the things you have to love about Walt Disney World is that there is so much contained within its 40+ square miles, you can’t help but learn something new each time you visit!

For example, when did Liberty Square Market in the Magic Kingdom start serving freshly roasted (grilled) sweet corn?  Holy smokes!  I haven’t had a cob of delicious roasted corn in eons!

We were walking away from the Haunted Mansion, and I caught a glimpse of a Guest wielding two of those roasted gems.  “Where did those come from?”, I exclaimed to Mrs. All in WDW.

We quickly discovered the source …

Sadly, we had already eaten lunch, but enjoying one of Liberty Square’s cobs of roasted delights has made it onto our “Disney List”!  I’ll grab one soon enough!

Dining Recon: Columbia Harbour House – A Triumphant Return!

OK.  We’re sold, my friends.  It took a while, but we finally get it.  Columbia Harbour House is the best Quick Service in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

In fact, Mrs. All in WDW declared, on a visit just a few days ago, that it is our new healthy place to go for lunch.  Why?  Well, we sampled their Grilled Salmon.

img_3061

It was delicious!  We agreed that we’ve both had salmon at fine restaurants that wasn’t as good!

You see, prior to this, we’d only ordered Columbia’s fish and chips – now offered as a Battered Fish Plate.  We weren’t impressed.

The salmon, however, accompanied by couscous and broccoli, made for a fine lunch.  The salmon, itself, was perfectly cooked.

The couscous – although on the dry side (which I prefer, by the way) – tasted great!  The only critique I’d have is that, though the broccoli was very tender, it seemed completely unseasoned.  At the least, a bit of butter is a must.

A “go to” meal, we’re glad to have discovered it … or, did we?  Doug Davis of the WDW Main Street Podcast has been recommending this dish to us for quite some time.

Having said that, I discovered the truth only recently.  Apparently, his favorite Harbour House dish is their Lobster Roll.

Doug reports that his wife, Brenda, is the one who is a big fan of the salmon.  You know, that makes sense to me.  I always had her pegged as the brains of the operation.  Lol, Doug.

Anyway, you heard it here … if you’re looking for a Magic Kingdom meal that’s a little bit more on the healthy side … Grilled Salmon at Columbia Harbour House.  Get it!

Grab That Suitcase, Folks! It’s Gurgling (Getting?) Away!

Wow!  What a victory!

Old Key West fans rose up in force to deliver a decisive victory to Gurgling Suitcase Libations & Spirits – our inaugural All in WDW Readers’ Favorite WDW Pool Bar!

I have to admit, I am a slight bit surprised.  Why?  Well, knowing the popularity of Disney’s Beach and Yacht Clubs – as well as Stormalong Bay (their signature pool) – I was certain that Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill would take the “prize”!

True, Hanna did finish in 2nd, but, realistically, it never had a chance.  Gurgling leaped out fast and far and didn’t look back!  I’ll say it again … wow!

What makes the Suitcase so popular?  For us, it’s the “outside while you’re inside” feel of the place.  We love the open doors!

Of course, the view doesn’t hurt …

And, the decorations are quite nice …

A smallish spot, the bartenders are very friendly.  The beer is ice cold.  And, the food is good.

By the way, you can order off of the Suitcase’s own bar menu or from Olivia’s Cafe (it is attached).  In addition, Good’s Food to Go is right next door.

Before I move on, let me pass along one more small piece of advice …

If you’re craving a lunch-time beverage and a seat at the bar, drop in at opening “bell” – 11:30 AM.  Space can be very limited!

So, my friends, let’s close with one last important piece of business … the All in WDW Readers’ Top 10 Favorite WDW Pool Bars!
