Dining Recon: Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Boma!

Hello, folks!  Are you hungry?  really hungry?  Then, a good ole’ Disney buffet is what you need!  And, Boma?  It’s the best!

You know, I find it incredibly difficult to write dining reviews for buffets.  Why?  Too much food.  Too many people!

Seriously.  I don’t feel I can do justice to the breadth of options offered by a place like Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Boma.

First, there are way too many delectable options available to catch them all on “film!  Second, there are simply too many people “in the way” of taking a bunch of pictures!

As an alternative, I think the easiest thing to do is to bring you, All in WDW’s Disney dining fanatics, a small slice of … steak!  As well as a selection of other delicious morsels, of course.

Let’s dine, shall we!  We’re going to “fine dine” tonight, in fact.  I started with soup.  Let’s taste Tunisian Seafood Stew!

Loaded with scallops and shrimp, this dish was phenomenal.  If it weren’t for the rest of the buffet, I’d have had another dish … and another!

Next?  Coconut Curry Chicken Stew.  I’d had it before.  It’s quite enjoyable, actually.  To be honest, though, I wished I had, indeed, grabbed another bowl of seafood-laden “deliciousness”.

You have to have salad before dinner, right?  OK.  How about Lentils and Hearts of Palm Salad with Goat Cheese, Chives, and Almonds (pictured on the left)?

No?  Well, it was tasty, but the Shrimp Cous Cous Salad (pictured at top) was outstanding!  I highly recommend it!

Wait!  What was that piece of fish that snuck onto my plate?  Hmmm.  That was a piece of Orange Almond Emulsion Crusted Salmon.  Tasty.  Definitely worth a try!

In my mind, my entrees were Boma’s Slow-roasted Pork Ribs and African Carved Strip Loin!  Oh!  And, lest I forget … liberally ladle some Boma Mustard onto the beef.  It’s excellent!

You know what I was by this time, my friends?  Stuffed!  But, wait, Bob!  What about dessert?

Uh, Zebra Domes!  You betcha!  Two domes, a piece of Orange Almond Cheesecake (pictured top right), and Oreo Mousse (pictured top left)?  Wow!  OK.  Now, I’m really stuffed!

Fans, I can’t recommend Boma enough.  What you’ve seen here, today, only scratches the surface.

The choices are too numerous to list.  The tastes are too good to describe.  You have to visit Boma at least once.  If you’re like us, you’ll go back again and again and again!

Photo Gallery: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!

Good morning, my friends!  Welcome to the middle of the week!  Already?  Yes, it’s “Hump Day”, everyone!  Friday is right around the corner.  Yay!

Mrs. All in WDW and I stopped by our favorite resort yesterday.  Yes, some “quality time” was spent at Pepper Market.  Their Southwestern Omelet is delicious!

We reached our daily 10,000 ‘steps’ with 4.0+ miles worth of laps around Lago Dorado.  What a beautiful walking trail!

Finally, later on, we “refreshed” at our beloved Laguna Bar.  Hey!  It has been 100 degrees down here this week!  Well, it has been darn close to 100!

Anyway, regardless of the heat, the highlight of our visit was the weather.  It might have been a warm morning and afternoon, but the skies were beautiful.  Look at the clouds!

Coronado is simply a gorgeous resort, folks.  A Deluxe feel at a Moderate price, it really can’t be beat.  Try it!  We have three more stays planned for this year alone, and we can’t wait!

Another “Wave” of American Flavors?!

Mrs. All in WDW and I recently joined a friend for a few quick appetizers at one of the Contemporary Resort’s fine eateries – The Wave … of American Flavors!  Great food, folks!

When it comes to the Contemporary, we surely love their restaurants.  For instance, I haven’t been shy at all about naming the California Grill as one of our overall WDW favorites.  For our family, it has sentimental appeal … and a delicious menu!

I’ve written about The Wave before, as well.  Located on the resort’s first floor, for us, it is also a frequent stop.  We’ve dropped in for lunch from time to time, but, most often, we’ll take a few seats at the restaurant’s bar.

The Wave

Billed as an ‘elegant oasis’, according to Disney, The Wave Lounge ‘promises a chic retreat for adults looking to unwind.’  Refreshing cocktails and tasty “snacks”, it’s worth a spot on your “to-do” list.  Check out their food!

Our group started with the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread and Soft Pretzels and Dips.

We moved on to the Vegetarian Flatbread.

Then, we finished with the Lump Crab and Florida Rock Shrimp Cakes.

All phenomenal, the crab cakes and Buffalo flatbread get my highest recommendations.  The cakes were crispy yet tender.  The flatbread was bursting with flavor.

My friends, Mrs. All in WDW and I are creatures of habit.  When we find a place we like, we are prone to visit time and again.  The Wave is one of those spots.  Drop in!  We guarantee that you’ll like it!

Dining Recon: Grand Floridian Cafe

On a recent trip to The World, Mrs. All in WDW asked me where we could stop for a nice, relaxing breakfast.  What she really meant was … ‘Where can we visit that we’ve never been to before?’

Well, I suggested the Grand Floridian Cafe.  She was, initially, unconvinced.  Pleasantly, after a little bit of coaxing, she bought into the “adventure”.  It’s a good thing too because we enjoyed a great light breakfast!

They make a great Bloody Mary, but we loved their Grand Blend Press Pot Coffee!  For our meal, we both ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet with fresh fruit.  Delicious!

What a great, clean, elegant, relaxing spot for breakfast, folks!  We recommend that you give the Grand Floridian Resort’s cafe a shot.  We did, and we’ll be back!
