“Main Street Trivia” Revealed!

Wow!  You guys must have been aching for a shot of trivia!  Your participation, yesterday, was nothing short of phenomenal.  Over 100 responses!

I’ll quote one of our readers – Andrew (@AndrewCfran on Twitter) – who reported, “Tokyo.  They don’t actually have a railroad that circles the park because of the country’s transport laws.”  Right on, Andrew!

You did a great job, folks.  It was a tough question!  And, the three most obvious options – Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Park (Paris), and Tokyo Disneyland – pretty much split your “votes”!

WDW RR Train

Try your mind at “Main Street Trivia”!

Who doesn’t love the peaceful, yet entertaining, beauty of Main Street, U.S.A.?

The parades.  The singers.  The dancers.  The shops.  The horse-drawn trolley.  The smell of popcorn!  Oooh, the smell of popcorn.

The first “themed land” you’ll see as you enter, Main Street is a beautiful welcome to Disney’s “Magic Kingdom-style” parks worldwide.

Did I forget the train?  Well, someone did. That’s the theme of this trivia teaser, at least.

The Magic Kingdom’s Walt Disney World Railroad is one of Mrs. All in WDW’s favorite Disney attractions.  Whenever we go to “Mickey’s Kingdom”, we make sure to take time to ride on one of its vintage trains.

Did you know that the entrance of one of Disney’s worldwide parks isn’t adorned with a train station above the entrance?  Do you know which one?  Take a shot!

What a “Mystic” Question!

Did you take a shot at yesterday’s trivia?

I know we don’t often venture off Walt Disney World’s property, but one of the things I have wanted to do for a long time now is to sprinkle a taste of Disney’s other parks into our ‘diets’.  Why?  To educate myself as well as you, to be honest.

Anyway, back to yesterday … if your answer was “Mystic Manor”, then you were right on target!  For those of you who did, you must already know a little bit about Hong Kong Disneyland!  Congratulations!

Mystic Manor

“Mystic Manor is a dark ride attraction in the Mystic Point section of Hong Kong Disneyland.”  It “… tells the story of Lord Henry Mystic and his monkey Albert. Having recently acquired an enchanted music box, Albert opens the box and brings everything inside the house to life.”  So says Wikipedia!

Mystic Manor was opened a little less than a year ago, on May 17, 2013, and “… has no ghosts like the other mansions.”  Why is this, you ask?  It is a courtesy to the “… different views on death and spirits in Chinese culture.”

It’s already well-acclaimed as, “[i]n November 2013, Mystic Manor received the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Attraction from the Themed Entertainment Association.  Wow!

See you tomorrow, my friends!  Thanks for playing trivia!

Trivia! Haunted Houses Everywhere?

Good morning!  Or, good afternoon … if you’re visiting us later in the day.  You know what we haven’t done in a long time?  Played a nice round of trivia!

I was trying to decide what would be a great topic to tackle when I got a comment on our recently-completed poll.  In it, one of our friends was extolling the virtues of Disney’s Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion.

Hitchhiking Ghosts

My simple response to our reader’s words?  Yes, we elected Food & Wine as our favorite WDW attraction.  Yes, Haunted Mansion was our former “champion”.  Yes, the “house of haunts” is a fantastic attraction in its own right.

So, let me ask you this … did you know that WDW’s “den” of “Grim Grinning Ghosts” has a bunch of “sister” attractions?  Of course, you do!

Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland all have versions of the attraction.

I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time.  Let’s go off WDW property for a minute and answer this … Hong Kong Disneyland’s residence of “ghouls” was opened just last year.  But, it’s not called “Haunted Mansion”.  It’s called _______________.
