The number of the day is 30,000. No, not votes. Overnight, thanks to all of your support, All in WDW passed 30,000 all-time page views! THANK YOU! When it came to vote totals, we racked up 1,247 yesterday. The Haunted Mansion was the big “winner” with 187 votes. Oh, and yet another country found The World of All in WDW! That makes four new entries to All in WDW’s “World Showcase” this week! You guys are fantastic!
Back to business, though. We’re down to the “Terrific 10”, my friends!! But, I have to warn you …
… this is the round where the “rubber hits the road”. This is where the voting gets very real.
I don’t know about you, but, I have to admit that I’m not surprised to see that five of WDW’s behemoths have made it into these two semi-final groups. We talk about the “mountains”. We rave about “The Mansion”. And, Disney has made movie after movie filled with “pirates”. Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean all handily waltz their way into this next round of voting.
When it comes to true surprises, however, our love for the TTA PeopleMover has kept me on my toes. In Round 1, I had actually considered it the 3rd seed of Group #9 with Buzz Lightyear and Dumbo my favorites to graduate to Round 2! Truthfully, I completely over-estimated Dumbo’s appeal. I actually thought it was the sure winner of the group! Doesn’t it always have a long line? In the end, the TTA steam-rolled the poor elephant, and in Round 2 it has knocked out the king of corny jokes – the Jungle Cruise. I under-estimated you, TTA. You’ve got real appeal!
Let’s move on, folks! Vote, vote, vote for your Favorite Magic Kingdom Attraction! It’s Round 3! The “Final Four” is just one step away! The Top 2 from each group move into the finale!

Having to choose between Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain was painful. 😦 Interesting, though, that Mansion has more votes than ANY other attraction! I smell winner 😀

If it helps, the highest vote-getter in both Round 1 and Round 2 was the HM. I think you might be right. I’m with you on PhilharMagic, but I couldn’t turn my back on Pirates.
My vote for PhilharMagic is only because I was pretty sure Pirates would win anyway. 😉 If I’d thought otherwise I probably would have voted Pirates… I’ll always vote for HM because it truly IS my favourite, but it’s hard to vote against Splash regardless!
As much as I love Big Thunder — and appreciate its ties to the original Western River Expedition concept — it’s killing me that Space Mountain — something Walt was planning and was very excited for at least as far back as ’64 — might lose this round! I fully expect Haunted to win at the end, but it would be nice to see Space make it another round.
Thunder HAS done better than I expected. I’m not sure if this will be true for a lot of the poll voters, but I can tell you my problem with Space. I used to really enjoy that ride, but, as I’ve grown older, it has just become too physically taxing. It isn’t a roller-coaster “thing” either as I still love (and ride) Everest and Rock n Roller. Space just throws me around too much, it seems. Maybe the voters are working that into their votes.
