The “Land” of Tomorrow!

Wow, I have to admit that I didn’t see this one coming.  We may be “Mad about the Magic Kingdom!”, but we’re evidently bonkers over Tomorrowland!  Is it Stitch’s fault?

Actually, the tally was excruciatingly close.  Only twelve votes separated five of the Magic Kingdom’s “Lands”, so it’s unfair to call Tomorrowland’s win a resounding “victory”.  I think it has to be labeled a shocker, though.  Doesn’t it?  I mean, what happened to Liberty Square?  Isn’t that where the All in WDW “champion attraction” – the Haunted Mansion – resides?  What about Main Street?  Isn’t that a nostalgic favorite of people – young and old?  New Fantasyland?

When we named the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Disney’s Magic Kingdom Attraction back in March, and then again when we elected our favorite WDW attraction a few weeks later, it was …

… Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion that ruled each competition.  With that in mind, I have to say, my bets were that those two attractions – and the also widely-supported Big Thunder Mountain – would carry Frontierland and Liberty Square to the top of the charts.  I also was convinced that Main Street would garner huge support.  Finally, my personal hopes were for Adventureland.  I never guessed that the “land” of Tomorrow would rule the day.

In hindsight, Tomorrowland does boast a collection of beloved attractions.  Favorites like Astro Orbiter, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Space Mountain, Stitch’s Great Escape!, Tomorrowland Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress are constantly in demand.

And, Space Mountain and Tomorrowland Transit Authority received a huge amount of support back in our March poll.  When you take that into consideration, and then remember that an incredible amount of people make a mad dash to Tomorrowland in the hope of getting into a short line for Space Mountain when the Magic Kingdom’s rope drops in the morning, I guess our choice makes more sense.

In the end, though, I still think it’s Stitch’s fault.  He’s got a lot of fans, you know!  Congratulations, Tomorrowland!  You are the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Disney’s Magic Kingdom “Land”!
