WDW Trivia! – The Answer

OK, so that was a tough one!  Sorry.

The Magic Kingdom’s version of the Country Bear Jamboree involves the musical contribution of 24 audio-animatronics.  “Geez, Bob.  How was I supposed to know that.  I never stopped to count them!”  Yeah, it was a tough one as only 24% of us solved the riddle.

For the record, the, now retired, Disneyland version included 48 animatronics.  The attraction at Tokyo Disneyland has 50!

Originally sponsored by …

… Pepsi and Frito-Lay, Frontierland’s country-jammin’ bears started singing and dancing with the Magic Kingdom’s opening on October 1, 1971.  They haven’t stopped since!

Interestingly, according to Wikipedia, the jamboree “was originally intended by Walt to be placed at Disney’s Mineral King Ski Resort which he was trying to build in the mid 1960s.  Walt knew [that] he wanted some sort of show to provide entertainment to the guests at the resort, and he knew [that] he wanted the show to feature some sort of bear band.”

Mineral King is a glacial valley located in the southern part of California’s Sequoia National Park.  Hah!  Who knew?

Have a great day, folks!
