I had something else in mind for today, but I can push that out until tomorrow in order to answer a question. It’s the least I can do … since I stirred several of you into asking it yesterday!
So, what was on your mind?
“What are the accompaniments, Bob?!”
Yes, in a quest for a delicious lunch of Butter Chicken, Mrs. All in WDW and I made our return to Sanaa yesterday. Along the way, we enjoyed a serving of their marvelous bread service.
This prompted several of you to request a “run-down” on the “condiments”. So, here you are … from the Top and going counter-clockwise. Which, by the way, according to the Cast Member that served us was also from coolest to hottest!
- Cucumber Raita
- Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus
- Mango Chutney
- Tamarind Chutney
- Coriander Chutney
- Coconut Chutney
- Garlic Pickle
- Red Chile Sambal
- Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle
Of course, the “stars” of the dish were the three pieces of Traditional Naan that we requested (they kindly brought us a fourth piece when we asked!), but the accompaniments were phenomenal! Other than the traditional style of naan, you can choose:
- Garlic Ginger Naan
- Spiced Naan
- Onion Kulcha
- Pappadum
We highly recommend you choose any one of, or combination of, the naan options.
But, back to the accompaniments … calling it “just like dessert”, Mrs. All in WDW raved about the Coconut Chutney. She was also partial to the Coriander Chutney and Garlic Pickle. She stayed away from the Mango Chutney.
For my part, call me “hot stuff”, but I loved the Red Chile Sambal and Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle. Our server claimed that the Lime Pickle was the hottest of the bunch, but I have to tell you … that Red Sambal packed a punch. It often made me dive into the Cucumber Raita to douse the flames.
What’s the price tag on this palette of delight? Well, if you visit for lunch, you can have your choice of three breads and three accompaniments for $9.99. For $2.00 more, however, you can get all nine “condiments”! Let me tell you, it is well worth the two bucks!
A few of you commented that you can’t wait to try this in the near future. We can’t recommend it enough! The bread is so soft and fresh. The selection of accompaniments is so tasty and diverse. It is a perfect start to what will most certainly be a great meal!
Oh, I looked back at the receipt, and they charged us $1.99 for that extra piece of naan. Well worth it!
