Well, there you have it, then! Different “competition”, same result. We sure do love Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. In spite of all the construction, too!
You have to admit one thing, though. It sure was close. The Poly barely edged out the Animal Kingdom Lodge and BoardWalk “consortiums”. See the final results here.
Of course, this leaves me to wonder how a one-on-one matchup between the Polynesian and the Animal Kingdom resorts or the Poly and the BoardWalk resorts would conclude. Hmm. Another day, maybe.
In the meantime, how would you like a quick photo tour of some of the best(?) of Disney’s disassembled Polynesian Village Resort?
We took most of these shots a little over a month ago, so I suspect the crews have made quite a bit of progress since then. Regardless, here’s a glimpse of what’s under construction. Enjoy!
So, where do we start? A glimpse inside … walls, walls, and more walls!
And, what do you find outside? More walls! The walkways are lined with them!
In fact, it’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to walking through a real life-size maze! I thought I’d never find the beach!
They were appropriately themed, I’ll say that for them.
Finally, here’s a view of DVC’s construction from the beach …
And, finally, thanks to the Magic Kingdom ferry, another view from the opposite side …
