Dining Recon: Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill!

Howdy, folks!  How’s it goin’?  The topic of Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill came up during a recent episode of the WDW Main Street Podcast.  I believe it happened during my last appearance …

Episode 467 – It’s Food & Wine 2018!

Yes, we were chatting about this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.  Lots of great cuisine being offered this year, but one of the items – Hops and Barley’s New England Lobster Roll is a particularly beloved fan favorite.

Problem is … at $8 per serving, a lot of critics (myself included) have tapped this dish as nowhere near worth the price.  Oh, it is tasty, don’t get me wrong.  It’s also typically quite small.  Take a look …

2016’s “loaded?” Lobster Roll

In comparison, there are much better values to be found on WDW property.  For example, take a trip over to the Magic Kingdom.  Many fans rave about Columbia Harbour House’s Lobster Roll.

Myself?  Well, I prefer … you guessed it … the recipe served up by Hurricane Hanna’s.  Delivered on Parker House Bread with Citrus Mayonnaise and accompanied by French Fries or Apple Slaw, their Seafood Roll is a feast!

If you take a close look, it is presented as three attached rolls.  Three!  Plus, loaded with lobster, scallops, and more than half-a-dozen shrimp, it is utterly delicious!  Wow!

Do you want to know the best part?  $11.79!  What?!  Think about it this way … Hops & Barley’s version is all lobster.  However, even if it was loaded with this much seafood, wouldn’t it have to cost two to three times Hanna’s price?

For my money, folks, I’d pass on Food & Wine (never thought I’d say that!) and walk over to Disney’s Beach & Yacht Club.  Visit Hanna.  Pull up a stool at the bar, chat with their friendly bartenders, and grab a seafood feast!  You won’t be sorry that you did!

Greetings, folks!  If you caught last Monday’s post, you’d know that Mrs. All in WDW and I just love Disney’s epic holiday gingerbread “creations”.

For example, did you catch a glimpse of the Grand Floridian’s marquee “house”?  No?  Well, catch it here …

Uh, What?  A Mini Mickey Sink?

Huh?  Did I miss a big announcement, folks?  A Mini Mickey Sink?  Check it out!  Amidst their regular menu, Beaches & Cream Soda Shop has something pretty sweet coming!

Will it be a bargain in comparison to our beloved Kitchen Sink?  We’ll have to wait and see, I guess!  Hey!  Do any of you have the scoop [pun very intended!] regarding this blockbuster?

Seafood Roll “Recon”? Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill “Quick Service” Menu!

Happy Monday, my friends!  Cheer up the beginning of your week by imagining one of our favorite Disney pastimes.  What is that, you ask?  Stroll – and lounge – around Crescent Lake!

Whether it be on the ever-entertaining BoardWalk or amongst the fun and friendly confines of Stormalong Bay, we could spend a whole day there!

And, the restaurants!  Wow!  Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can find them by the thousands!  Well, OK.  By the dozens.  Take Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill, for instance.

Oh!  Whether here, on All in WDW, or even on the Disney Food Blog, I’ve “crowed” about them many times in the past.  Want to see?  Take a look …

Taking Hurricane Hanna’s Home

Another Hurricane on Crescent Lake?

Anyway, on our trip to Orlando a few weeks ago, Mrs. All in WDW and I passed by Hanna’s Quick Service counter.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t open, as yet, but I snapped a shot of their menu, nonetheless.

Much to my pleasure, their “infamous” Seafood Roll survives!  I only say that because Disney has a penchant for frequently shuffling their menus around.

I’m not sure if the “recipe” remains the same as in the past, but this is what that delectable delight looked like some time back.

Called a Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallop Roll back in late 2014, this dish was delicious!  Hopefully “today’s” version is much the same.

Folks, if you’re staying at one of Disney’s nearby resorts – think Beach, Yacht, BoardWalk, Swan, and Dolphin – enjoy the views, food, and fun.

However, if your accommodations are elsewhere, take our word for it … Crescent Lake is still well worth your time.  It’s a phenomenal place to spend a day.  You should visit it soon!

WDW Main Street – Episode #315 – Our “Perfect” WDW Christmas Days!

Doug, Dennis, and I gather together in the Main Street Pub to “plan” our ideal way to spend Christmas Day in The World!

In what resorts did we choose to stay?  Where will we eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner?  Disney Springs might be in line to see a lot of our business!

We even have an imaginary “unlimited FastPass+”.  What three attractions will we use it to enjoy over and over again?  Listen to the show find out!
