Dining Recon: The Friar’s Nook

By Evan Chaisson

Hello, all!  When you think about Magic Kingdom dining venues, what comes to mind?  Be Our Guest Restaurant?  Liberty Tree Tavern?  Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe?  Columbia Harbour House?

Let me tell you what we think is your next “must do” at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.  It’s a tiny Counter Service that boasts only three items!  Three!

Any guesses?  The Friar’s Nook is nestled between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Pinocchio Village Haus.

Simply put, the Nook serves the best macaroni & cheese on Disney property!  On this visit, I had the Barbecue Chicken Macaroni & Cheese.  It is to die for!

As you can see, it comes as a huge helping of mac & cheese draped with pulled barbecue chicken and coleslaw.  It is topped with breadcrumbs.  A good-sized portion, it carries a price tag that won’t break the bank – $11.49.

My wife had their regular Macaroni & Cheese, and she couldn’t believe how good it was!  Another generous serving, it could be had for a similarly great price – $8.99.

We both had issues putting our forks down while we were eating these delights.  They were that good!  We can’t recommend them, and this restaurant, highly enough!  Try it!
