Stitch? You’re Outa Here!

Oh, OK, Stitch.  Not quite yet, eh?  After all, who do we think we are anyway?  Hey!  We’re the fans, that’s who!  We have spoken!

I really love these “Rehabilitate? Or, Eliminate?” exercises.  I don’t know why I don’t run them more often.  They sure do give us Disney “geeks” a great opportunity to “flex our muscles”.  Well, to flex our voices, at least, huh?

We truly have spoken.  An overwhelming 73% of us declare, “Eliminate!”  And, your comments matched the voting …

“How about exterminate?!”

“Let’s put it this way, DW’s favorite character is Stitch.  We have gone to this attraction once.”  Yeah, Mrs. All in WDW and I agree with that sentiment.

“Eliminate!!!  Bring us something good!!!” – and – “Eliminate!!!  Going on it once in a lifetime is enough!”

Then, more … “Eliminate!!!  Did it for the first time last year, and it was horrible.  Never again!!!”  We agree, once again.

“Put it out of our … I mean, its misery!”

Even fans of the maniacal beast want to see a change.  See?  “Stitch is my favorite character, but I think he deserves a much better attraction!”  – and – “Get rid of it.  I love Stitch as a character, but this attraction is just no good.”

How about, “I’ve never been on it (by choice)!  I say put something family friendly in!”

The “eliminates” just went on and on and on … in fact, I counted more than a dozen uses of the word in comments on Facebook alone!

Of course, not everyone hates Stitch’s crazy “jailbreak”.  For example, “I feel like I might be the only one who likes this ride.  When I went with my family a few months ago, they all hated it.”

“I’m fine with eliminating it, but I don’t hate it like everyone else seems to.  It’s not good, and something better could go there, but it’s still good enough that I try to do it when I’m there.  It’s, at least, amusing.”

Of course, others had an old favorite that they wanted to see revived.  Such as, “I would bring back ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter!  I miss it …”

Alien Encounter

And, “I think you should return it to its original glory of Alien Encounter but updated … similar to what happened at the Enchanted Tiki Room.”

For mine and Mrs. All in WDW’s part, we’re on the same page with the reader that commented, “I’m definitely on the ‘eliminate’ side for this one.”

He went on to say, “We saw Stitch’s Great Escape the first time we went to WDW, and, then, we’ve never seen it again.  I’ve heard that the old Alien Encounter attraction was better, but I’d rather see something new and exciting in there.”

Something new is where we’d go, as well.  In fact, this fan seems to be close to the target with, “… if that Tomorrowland movie ends up doing good, it seems like a tie-in attraction would be something that actually fits into, well, Tomorrowland.”

The Tomorrowland movie may very well be a good path for Walt Disney Imagineering to follow, but only time will tell.  The only thing we do know, at this point, though, is that this group of fans is ready for a change!

You hear that, WDI?  As far as we’re concerned, “Stitch? You’re Outa Here!”
