Four familiar foes. One very happy winner. All in WDW’s congratulations go out to Splash Mountain – the 2016 Readers’ Favorite Magic Kingdom Attraction!
What a competition, my friends! It was a thrill to behold.
Last our “victor” in 2013, Brer Rabbit “splashed” his way back to the top of the “mountain” by leading yesterday’s competition … all day long!
Considering the grip that Haunted Mansion has had on the title the last two years, that’s huge news. If you knew that Splash was yesterday’s complete underdog, you’d be stunned.
What do I mean? Well, entering Tuesday’s finale, here were the mid-tournament vote totals for each attraction …
- Haunted Mansion – 197
- Pirates of the Caribbean – 187
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 157
- Splash Mountain – 133
Yet, both front-runners plummeted to their respective finishes. Our two-time defending “champ” – Mansion – slid to 3rd! 3rd! A perennial favorite – Pirates – fell to the bottom of the pile.
Wow! Well fought, Splash! You really earned this title. First, you took 2013’s inaugural tournament. Now, you stun us in 2016. You are a very worthy Magic Kingdom two-time champ!
As for the rest of the “tournament” … fantastic work, my friends! A truly outstanding job! Thanks for all your votes and support!
