Dining Recon: Columbia Harbour House – A Triumphant Return!

OK.  We’re sold, my friends.  It took a while, but we finally get it.  Columbia Harbour House is the best Quick Service in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

In fact, Mrs. All in WDW declared, on a visit just a few days ago, that it is our new healthy place to go for lunch.  Why?  Well, we sampled their Grilled Salmon.

It was delicious!  We agreed that we’ve both had salmon at fine restaurants that wasn’t as good!

You see, prior to this, we’d only ordered Columbia’s fish and chips – now offered as a Battered Fish Plate.  We weren’t impressed.

The salmon, however, accompanied by couscous and broccoli, made for a fine lunch.  The salmon, itself, was perfectly cooked.

The couscous – although on the dry side (which I prefer, by the way) – tasted great!  The only critique I’d have is that, though the broccoli was very tender, it seemed completely unseasoned.  At the least, a bit of butter is a must.

A “go to” meal, we’re glad to have discovered it … or, did we?  Doug Davis of the WDW Main Street Podcast has been recommending this dish to us for quite some time.

Having said that, I discovered the truth only recently.  Apparently, his favorite Harbour House dish is their Lobster Roll.

Doug reports that his wife, Brenda, is the one who is a big fan of the salmon.  You know, that makes sense to me.  I always had her pegged as the brains of the operation.  Lol, Doug.

Anyway, you heard it here … if you’re looking for a Magic Kingdom meal that’s a little bit more on the healthy side … Grilled Salmon at Columbia Harbour House.  Get it!

  1. LOVE Columbia Harbour House! I never went until last year and now it’s my go to. For the most part, my husband and I share a meal, but never when it comes to the Lobster Roll. We tried sharing and he almost lost a hand.
