To cover the event, we published:
Mrs. All in WDW and I had a blast bringing you this account of our “Food” & Garden exploits, and we thank you for …
… following along with us on our journey! If you have a chance, slip down to Orlando and enjoy the best of Chef Dahlmann’s cuisine.
Dining was definitely the theme of the month as we introduced our first All in WDW-published “Dining Recon” with a recap of our visit to Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. I still want another one of those burgers! I also tried my hand at making what is now one of our favorite Disney dishes – Hurricane Hanna’s seared tuna. Check it out “All in WDW-style”. Finally, just a few days ago, we took you on a photo tour of the BoardWalk Inn’s Belle Vue Lounge – where we discovered that there is a way to have your drinks and dinner too.
Now, we have arrived at the numbers portion of the monthly update – the stats. When last I reported, we had concluded our third month of “life” with 20,953 page views (about 230 page views per day). One month later, All in WDW has seen 28,575 total page views for an overall average of about 235 page views per day. The most-read post in the last month was the, aforementioned, “Dining Recon: Beaches and Cream Soda Shop”. Mmm, that burger!
Once again, “The World of All in WDW” has grown bigger. As of last month, the list numbered 43 countries. Now, it proudly sports 49!! New to our “world” are: Austria, Guam, Indonesia, United Republic of Tanzania, Estonia, and Antigua and Barbuda! Welcome, all! Thanks for your support, and thanks for stopping by! My question is this … who will be #50?
If you have followed me for long, you know how this update ends … I want to specifically say thank you to all 51 of my Facebook and all 316 of my Twitter followers for your support, comments, “Likes”, “Re-Tweets”, and “Follows”. I want to thank everyone who has subscribed to the site via email or bookmarked it in your web browser. I want to especially thank all of you kind people who pop over from Reddit. Your support energizes me each and every day! Thank you!! You guys all ROCK!
Get to the “Food” & Garden Festival, my friends, and tell Chef Jens that All in WDW sent ya’! Oh, and stop back tomorrow – something BIG begins!! Cheers!
My apologies. This one’s a few days late as we actually hit All in WDW’s third month anniversary this past Monday. The fact is, we were in the middle of appointing Flying Fish Cafe as our Favorite Crescent Lake Table Service Restaurant, and I didn’t want to throw a big interruption in our way! Nonetheless, here it is – the February Update.
We accomplished quite a bit this past month. When it came to polls, we also crowned IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth as our Favorite Epcot Attraction by the narrowest of margins – 44 to 43 over iconic Spaceship Earth. In addition, we …
… journeyed to Pizza Planet to find our Favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios Quick Service.
In one of the most enjoyable polls of the month – for me, at least – we re-imagined World Showcase. As far as I’m concerned, we are completely right – Australia/New Zealand, Russia, and India should be added to Epcot’s International collection of treasures with all haste.
All in WDW’s biggest news of the last thirty days was my introduction as a guest reviewer on A.J. Wolfe’s Disney Food Blog. It was an incredible honor to have DFB let me grace their pages when they published my Photo Tour of Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill. Give it a read! It was a great opportunity for me.
Finally, we introduced All in WDW’s “bank” of WDW ADRs. Do you need an advanced dining reservation? If so, click here.
Now, as always, we have arrived at my favorite part of the monthly update – the stats. When last I reported, we had concluded our second month of “life” with 12,404 page views (about 204 page views per day). One month later, All in WDW has seen 20,953 total page views for an overall average of 230 page views per day.
As of last month, our record day for page views was 498. However, on Sunday, January 27, 2013, we destroyed that mark by hitting 870 page views! In that one single day! Wow! That record will stick for a while, I’ll bet. The most viewed post that day? It was Round 2 of our crusade to elect our Favorite Epcot Attraction. I say it time after time – phenomenal!! You guys are just phenomenal!
Once again, “The World of All in WDW” has grown a lot bigger. As of last month, the list numbered 33 countries. Now, it proudly sports 43!! New to our “world” are: Portugal, Switzerland, Malaysia, Morocco, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Dominica, Ecuador, Romania, and Israel. Welcome, all! Thanks for your support, and thanks for stopping by!
If you have followed me for long, you know how this update ends … I want to specifically say thank you to all of my Facebook and Twitter followers for your support, comments, “Likes”, “Re-Tweets”, and “Follows”. I want to thank everyone who has subscribed to the site via email or bookmarked it in your web browser. I want to especially thank all of you kind people who pop over from Reddit. Your support energizes me each and every day! Thank you!! You guys all ROCK!
Oh, and, by the way … I’m still the mayor of Sanaa on FourSquare. Yahoo!
If you read my one-month anniversary post back in December you know how grateful I am for the time you share with me every time you stop by to visit All in WDW. Well, make no mistake, I’m very grateful for every mouse-click you make that takes you into this world. I’ve had a blast in our first two months, and I can’t wait to keep on going!
We’ve had a busy month, haven’t we? Polls! Polls! Polls by the thousands! OK … not quite that many, but we did elect several Reader Favorites. Namely, these:
Favorite Disney’s Magic Kingdom Quick Service: Columbia Harbour House
Favorite Disney’s Animal Kingdom Attraction: Expedition Everest
Favorite Disney’s “Fab Five” Character: Mickey Mouse
Favorite WDW Moderate Resort: Port Orleans – French Quarter
Favorite WDW Value Resort: Art of Animation Resort
That was a lot of work!
We added several Tips and Tricks to our list – including …
… a great Magical Express tip from Facebook follower Will F. Plus, our Lines chat friend, @pod4christ, also gave us some advice on how he and his family more efficiently get back to Pop Century and Art of Animation via resort bus. Thanks, guys!
Remember, if you have a tip or trick you’d like to see recorded on All in WDW, send an email to [email protected]. Give us your tip suggestion, we’ll write it up, and post it to the site – giving you proper credit, of course!!
Speaking of @pod, Mrs. All in WDW and I met he and his lovely family at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on our impromptu visit to The World in early January. That was the first time we’ve gone to visit “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” in eons, and it was fun to see it with them. Thanks for sharing that bit of your vacation with us, pod!
On that same trip, I earned a couple of unique non-All in WDW accolades – I became the mayor of both Sanaa and Laguna Bar on Foursquare! How about that?! I’m still a “double mayor” as of this writing. Outstanding!
Now, we have arrived at my favorite part of the monthly update – the stats. When last I reported, we had concluded our first month with 5,012 page views (about 165 views per day). One month later, All in WDW has seen 12,404 page views for an overall average of 204 views per day. In our first month, our record day was 457 page views. This past month, we broke that record … and then shattered it two additional times with 471, 483 and then 498 page views. The most viewed post in the last 30 days (with 722 views) appeared just a few days ago – “Mug(ged) in Disney?” I said it last month, and I’ll say it again – phenomenal!!
The World of All in WDW has also gotten a lot bigger in the last 4-5 weeks. By December 18th, people from 18 different countries had touched our site. Now, that list numbers 33 countries! New to our “world” are: Norway, France, India, Italy, Mexico, Denmark, Ireland, Aruba, Finland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Poland, Singapore, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Malta. Welcome, all! Thanks for your support and thanks for stopping by!
Finally, I want to specifically say thank you to all my Facebook and Twitter followers for your support. I want to thank everyone who has subscribed to the site via email or bookmarked it in your web browser. I want to especially thank all of you kind people who pop over from Reddit. You’ve all brought cheer to my life by participating in this little endeavor. Thank you!!
Sunday, November 18, 2012. That was the day I published the post entitled Welcome to “All in WDW”! as well as the pages I’ll be using over time to record WDW Cast Member “Wanna-Be’s” and our “Tips and Tricks”. We had 58 views that day – something I was incredibly honored by. Today, only one month later, we’ve accomplished a ton! In a minute, I’m going to share some really neat stats, so that you can know what YOU have accomplished. First, though, let’s take a look at what we’ve done together.
I’ve reviewed my assault on Epcot’s 2012 Food & Wine Festival. Remember, my Top 5 were:
Of course, this made Canada this year’s “big winner”. We can’t wait to see if they can hold onto their lofty position in 2013. By the way, did you know that today marks only 283 days until F&W ’13? Just sayin’! In the meantime, we still intend to make those shrimp tacos at home. We almost tried this past weekend, but I was a bit on the lazy side. Ironically, I decided to try the pork sliders instead, and that didn’t work out either. Note to self … if you want to make a dish that requires spicy mayo, please buy mayo. Sheesh!
We voted our brains out over the last few weeks, haven’t we? We crowned the Polynesian as our Favorite WDW Deluxe Resort. We were thrilled to elect the Tower of Terror to the “office” of Favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios Attraction. And, just yesterday, we concluded our quest to determine just where to find our Favorite WDW Buffet/Family Style Restaurant. Let’s all go over to ‘Ohana for some bread pudding! Next up? As requested by one of our loyal readers (@mkayo on Lines Chat) a few days ago – Animal Kingdom! After that, we’ll continue on to choose many more favorites. It’s “All in WDW”, and, as you all know, there are plenty of things about Walt Disney World to love … and plenty of things to name our favorite things to eat, drink, see, do, or experience. We’ll hit them all!
Two somewhat neglected parts of the site have been our “Tips and Tricks” and our list of WDW Cast Member “Wanna-Be’s”. That’s what happens when you start up a voting juggernaut that consumes most of your time! Maybe you all can help me out here. Do you have a tip or trick you’d like to see recorded on All in WDW? Send an email to [email protected]. Give me your tip suggestion, I’ll write it up, and post it to the site – giving you proper credit, of course! When it comes to Cast Member “wanna-be’s”, I know you’re out there, folks! I can’t be the only one around here that wants to work in the most wonderful place on Earth! My thanks to George Hart (@BloggerDisney on Lines Chat) for joining our list.
Now, on to those statistics I promised. I hope you stuck around because this is really interesting, and although I’m running this site, do the work, and pay the bills, these are our accomplishments. This is our site, and this is what we have done. In one month, we have generated (drum roll please) 5,012 page views! 5,012! In a month’s time, that averages out to about 165 per day! Before this past Sunday, our record day was 412 views on Thursday, November 29, 2012! This past weekend, on Sunday, December 16th, thanks to the recently completed “food fight”, we blew past 412 and didn’t stop until we hit 457! Phenomenal!
You know how we all love to get awarded “badges” for reaching Internet social software milestones? The badges I get to see are countries. Yes, countries. It thrills me each time I see we’ve gotten a hit from a new country. To date, we’ve logged views from 18 different countries from all over the world! Of course, at 4,751 hits, the United States is our biggest participant. However, we’ve also seen activity from the United Kingdom, Canada, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Colombia, Jersey, Brazil, New Zealand, Japan, the Virgin Islands, Iceland, Puerto Rico, Spain, the Netherlands, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates! Wow! In the future, keep track of “The World of All in WDW” on this page!
Friends, this first month has been a blast. I’m honored by your support, hunger for your participation, and look forward to continuing the quest to think about, talk about, and read about “The World”!
