Dining Recon: Storybook Dining at Artist Point!

Howdy, folks!  We have a special “meal” on tap for today.  It’s something relatively new in Walt Disney World – Storybook Dining at Artist Point!

I have to confess … character meals are not our thing.  Having said that, I was curious to see what Disney had done to Wilderness Lodge’s beloved former Signature restaurant.

Fortunately, Jenna of Resort TV1 rode to the rescue with a recent video covering her evening with Snow White and pals.  Check that out below.

In the meantime, if you’re interested in learning more about this new experience, please refer back to this post on Disney Parks Blog.  Within, they provide a complete description – including over a dozen great pictures – as well as pricing!

Episode 500(!!!) – Our Sunday News!

Yes, folks, it is a very big day in the WDW Main Street Pub!  It’s the show’s 500th anniversary!  That’s right … 500!

Before we jump into the episode, let’s all give a shout out to Doug Davis.  He’s been surrounded by a cast of characters over the years – myself included.  Having said that, he’s been on the mic week in and week out to deliver 500 exciting shows.  Great job, Doug!

So, what was on the Pub’s tap this week?  Well, there was quite a bit of reminiscing … that’s for sure!  Plus, we even had a few listeners call in to shower adoration and congratulations on the team!

Then, eventually, Doug, John, and I chatted about the Garden Rocks Concert Series at Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival as well as all of this week’s news from around Walt Disney World.  Catch the action at …

What?! A Sushi Donut? Take a Look at the Festival of the Arts!

When I scanned through Disney’s “artistic” festival menus a month or so back, I found myself wondering … what in ‘The World’ is a Sushi Donut?  Well, now, thanks to the great work by Disney Food Blog, I finally know.  Check out their …

Best of the Fest! What to Eat and Drink at the 2019 Epcot Festival of the Arts!

Epcot?  I’ll give you this much … you’re quite creative.  Served by Takumi Table – the Japan Pavilion – this dish is a donut-shaped Sushi featuring Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, Avocado, and Masago.  It is accented with a Citrus-soy Gelée and has Wasabi on the side.

Find a fantastic picture of this ‘not-so-doughy’ delight in the article linked above, and, then, if you’d like to see all of the items that you can sample at 2019’s Epcot Festival of the Arts, check out DFB’s Food Studios Page!

If that’s not enough, please check out this video (see below) presented by The WDW Couple!  They taste a number of morsels including:

  • Trio of Savory Croissant Doughnuts
  • Seared Corvina with braised Ratatouille
  • Roasted Candied Beet Salad with Goat Cheese Fritters
  • Sweet & Sour Balsamic-glazed Pork Ribs

And, of course, the aforementioned Sushi Donut!

In the meantime, which five (5) dishes would you go out of your way to try?  Leave a comment, here, on this post, on Facebook, or on Twitter, and let us all know!

For me, I’d be craving a handful of plates.  In fact, if I had been able to attend the festival this year, these would have made my 5-item tasting menu!

Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib – Cuisine Classique

Seared Corvina with braised Ratatouille – Cuisine Classique

Pan-Seared Scallop with Chorizo – The Artist’s Table

Taken on my sole visit to Festival of the Arts, here is 2017’s Pan-Seared Scallop!

Sopes de Chilorio: Slow-braised Pork marinated in Ancho Chili Paste served on Fried Corn Dough – El Arista Hambriento (The Hungry Artist) – Mexico Pavilion

Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Ending Lunch Service

Sad, isn’t it?  The restaurant only opened about three months ago!  Lack of patronage, maybe?  Let’s take a look at their lunch menu …

Lunch Menu

Doesn’t seen to be overly expensive … by Disney standards, that is.  Plus, some of the items look quite tasty!  The Jamaican Meat Pies as well as the Crab Cake appetizer catch my eye.

Hey!  They also hit Disney Food Blog’s radar!  Check it out at …
