Dining Recon: ESPN Club

Good Friday, folks!  I’m going to go ahead and say it … the BoardWalk’s ESPN Club is one of the most underrated dining spots on Disney property!

Hey!  After two recent visits, we feel that it is, at least.  Oh, sure, it is the epitome of a sports bar … boasting your typical “game day” fare.

Having said that, ESPN’s menu is also filled with options you won’t necessarily find at your average everyday tailgate party!

Take a look at the menu, my friends.  Take a look at the food!  Delish!  Such as their Chilled Tuna Nicoise Salad.  I certainly enjoyed that.  Quite light and refreshing, actually!  Mrs. All in WDW loved it, as well.

Meanwhile, on a second visit, Mrs. All in WDW and I shared a plate of Wings as an appetizer.  We asked for Medium sauce on the side.  Quite crispy and tasty.

Then, we finished by splitting a “branded” Old World Bavarian Burger.  As burgers go, it was just so-so … kind of ordinary.  But, of course, we’re talking “bar food”!

Whether it’s to watch a game or grab a respite from the Florida heat and humidity, give “The Club” a try, my friends.  You might just find it becoming one of your family favorites!

Menu Under Construction: ESPN Club

Well, so it’s not just the menu that’s “under construction”.  The ESPN Club’s entire kitchen is being refurbished as well.  Hmm.  Somehow, we missed that “memo”.

Much to our chagrin, Walt Disney World’s own web site says, “While the kitchen is being refurbished, ESPN Club is temporarily serving a quick-service menu of salads and sandwiches.”  Really?  Now, you tell us?

Both of us were much too hungry to go in search of another venue in which to enjoy lunch, so I selected the Italian Sausage.  It tasted fine, but this and a bag ‘o chips?  For $13.99?  Really?!

Ever diet-conscious, Mrs. All in WDW chose the House Salad with Chicken.  Simple but good, she claimed.

Folks, all in all, our experience was just like it was billed … pretty Quick Service.  It was also quite pricey.

To be honest, unless you’re looking for a cold beer, we recommend you stay away from the ESPN Club until football season arrives.  The kitchen has to be all ready to go by then, wouldn’t you think?!

Thanksgiving in Walt Disney World?

Just a short tip, here, my friends.  We found this out a little bit late to help anyone … especially ourselves!

Where can you find a traditional, and very reasonably priced, Thanksgiving dinner if you’re staying in Walt Disney World?

How about in the most obvious(?) of places – Disney’s BoardWalk’s ESPN Club?!

Yes, I said ESPN Club.  Take a look!

So, note it in your files.  You want turkey and stuffing?  Is Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Tree Tavern “stuffed” with Guests?  You want to mix some football in with your meal?  Try ESPN!

Hmm.  I wonder if they serve Christmas dinner as well!  Anyone know?

Another Satisfied All in WDW “Customer”?

Oh, OK.  You’re right.  I don’t have “customers”.  I have Disney friends.  So, how about I name this post, “Another Satisfied Disney Guest?”

I bet this happens to you too, but I get asked for WDW advice … a lot.  I mean, I’m the guy that friends, family, and co-workers walk up to and say, “Hey! We were thinking about going to Disney.  Where should we go?  What should we do?  What is it going to cost?  When should we go?”

Yikes!  Where do I start?

Anyway, do you remember the question I fielded a few weeks ago?  Fantasy baseball expert, Joel Henard, was heading to Major League Baseball’s Winter Meetings as a camera man for Bleacher Report, and he asked, “How can I get to the Dolphin?”

Disney on the Diamond

If you’ve taken a peek at All in WDW’s “About” tab at some point in the past few months, you’ve seen that I have a history bumping around in the world of fantasy baseball.

This time of the year is always a challenge for me because I love baseball.  I love spring … and, I adore Spring Training.  Why is it tough, though?  Even though I ‘hung up my cleats’ a few years ago, when Spring Training comes around, I can’t resist the need to draft baseball players!  It is excruciating!  After years of playing the game, it’s just too darn difficult to put it completely away.

Anyway, this year is no different … with one exception.  Like Disney, I started wondering if it would be possible to …
