Hangin’ Out on Casey’s Corner!

By John Peters

Fans, I have a confession to make.  I was born and raised in Orlando, and I have been to the Magic Kingdom countless times.  Having said that, I had never before eaten a hot dog from Casey’s Corner!

Well, that was until my most recent trip, that is.  My wife and I had found a great spot for the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade – by the way, it is now at 2 PM instead of 3 PM.  There’s your “tip for the day”!

While we waited for the festivities to begin, I got her a popcorn.  For me, I decided that a hot dog would taste great!

Casey’s serves hot dogs, fries, and sodas.  When you do something right, you don’t need to offer an extensive menu!

Foot-long price is on the left. 8″ dog’s price is on the right.

Their special that day was a hot dog topped with pineapple, red peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and sweet chili sauce.  I almost decided to order it, but, in the end, I went with their Macaroni & Cheese All-Beef Hot Dog.

Draped with macaroni and cheese and adorned by bacon, the dog was delicious!  In fact, for me, the mac-n-cheese had just the right creamy texture!

Casey’s Corner’s hot dogs all come with your choice of apple slices or French fries.  Each is available as either a standard 8″ dog or as a foot-long version.

Oh, and they do have a toppings bar that is utterly loaded with onions, sauerkraut, and jalapeños.  Good stuff!

I’ve finally made it to Casey’s, everyone, and I have to tell you … I will return very soon.

Come to think of it, though, I only have one little critique.  The only thing that would have made my experience even better?  Hah!  A beer, of course!

Dining Recon: Casey’s Corner

Confession time.  Until just over a month ago, Mrs. All in WDW and I had never visited Casey’s Corner.

Can you believe it!  It’s an amazing omission.  Well, it is to me, at least.  After all, my favorite sport is baseball, and I just love corn dogs!

We certainly enjoyed our first visit!  Mmm.  Corn dog nuggets!  A very inexpensive $5.49 snack!  How could we pass it up?  Quite simply, they were delicious.

Casey’s nostalgic decor is phenomenal, as well.  It certainly lives up to the restaurant’s theme.  Take a look!  Very colorful!

We have been visiting Walt Disney World for 15 years.  In all that time, we’d never stopped by Casey’s for even the quickest of bites?  What were we thinking?!  I’m glad we finally remedied that mistake.

How about you?  Have you neglected this Magic Kingdom counter service gem?  Take our advice.  Don’t.  Add it to your list.  It’s well worth it … even if it’s just to enjoy a quick, cheap snack!

“Dining” Recon: Backlot Express Restaurant

Kudos to gilanamia!  You are the All in WDW trivia champion for the day!  These barrels of condiment goodness?

They can be found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Backlot Express Restaurant!

Dining “recons” are tricky.  They make for great pictures, but you’re not always hungry enough to eat.  Or, the restaurant isn’t open when you stroll on by!

When it came to this particular visit to Backlot, we had just had breakfast at Hollywood & Vine’s Trolley Car Café.  Remember that post from earlier this week?

Anyway, as it turns out, all this Studios Quick Service had to offer on this particular morning was a menu.

And, some great decor.  Plenty of seating at this little restaurant!

So, tell me folks.  How many of you have been to the Backlot Express Restaurant?

And, we need your advice!  If Mrs. All in WDW and I pay a visit when this eatery is open, what should we have?

Four Parks, One World? Four Parks, ONE Day!

In case you missed all of last Saturday’s “shenanigans”.  Here it is … all in ONE place.

We woke up with a challenge on our minds.  We had never tried to tackle all four WDW parks in one day.

So, we sketched out a very loosely-defined plan and took off for the TTC.  A tram ride from the Simba section and a shivering journey on a ferry later, we were in “The Kingdom”!

Here are those links …

The only thing we haven’t shared, as yet, is our “brunch” at Gaston’s Tavern.  That will come soon.  It was our first visit … other than a serving of LeFou’s Brew some time ago.

After we returned from “orbit”, it was time to …
