We want to thank one of our readers – Will F. – for supplying the following report. He discovered, what was for he and his family, a disappointing change to Be Our Guest’s lunch menu.
According to Will, they had “been counting on the grilled steak sandwich”, but it’s “no longer there.”
For those that haven’t been to Be Our Guest, you can frequent any of the more-popular WDW dining sites, like Disney Food Blog, to get a description of that coveted sandwich:
“Grilled Steak Sandwich – with Garlic Butter Spread and Pommes Frites”
More or less the same description can be found on …
… All Ears and Touring Plans.
Clearly, this is a minor (or in Will’s case, major) menu change, however, in that they now offer:
“Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich – served warm on a Baguette with Horseradish Sour Cream and Pommes Frites”
You can see from the menu pic that Will supplied that it’s the same price as the steak sandwich ($11.99) but, by the description, not the same thing.
Mrs. All in WDW and I haven’t had a chance to visit Be Our Guest yet, but it’s quite likely that the aforementioned “Grilled Steak Sandwich” would have been very high on our target list as well. However, I know that quite a few of you have been there.
Please leave us your comments and let us know if you’re disappointed to see the grilled steak ‘get the axe’. Was it good? Has anyone been lucky enough to have both the grilled steak and the carved roast beef? Is one better than the other? Are they similar? Let us know!
In the meantime, as for Will, there’s no report as to what alternate choice he made. Did he get the carved roast beef? Did he go another way? Did he like whatever he got? Maybe he’ll pop back later and give us his advice … what should we order from this “new” Be Our Guest Menu?
