Who, out there, is excited to see Disney’s upcoming film “Tomorrowland”? Show of hands? Yeah, I thought so. We’re looking forward to it as well.
We have a few months to wait for the movie, of course, as it doesn’t open until May 22nd. But, in the meantime, Mrs. All in WDW and I thought we’d spend some “quality time” with Walt Disney World’s Tomorrowland.
I have to admit, we sometimes take Tomorrowland for granted. In truth, when we visit Mickey’s Magic Kingdom, we often spend most of our time in Adventureland sailing with swashbuckling pirates or cruising through the jungles of the world.
If not those exciting activities, we head to the back of the park in order to get frightened by the mansion’s 999 haunts … or, to take a leisurely stroll through Fantasyland. Tomorrowland is often an afterthought.
Please enjoy our brief photo tour of Disney’s Magic Kingdom’s “world of tomorrow”, my friends! And, well, Mrs. All in WDW and I will see ya’ “tomorrow”!
If you want a proper tour of Tomorrowland, this should be your first stop!
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover!
Take a seat and enjoy the ride!
You’ll get several views of Astro Orbiter.
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover itself. See it, there, in the middle of the shot?
And, I had to add this shot … since I randomly caught “a bird in (over) orbit”!
And, look! There’s the Tomorrowland Speedway!
Blinding speed around those corners? No, these cars are pretty tame.
The “mover” takes you into Space Mountain …
… and, this is what you get when it stops suddenly, in the mountain, and in pitch dark!
Of course, here IS the Magic Kingdom’s signature mountain!
And, another angle.
You get a few monsters, and …
… an obnoxious alien. We’ll be back to discuss YOU tomorrow, Stitch!
Finally, we have a touch of Walt himself! This famed attraction was down when we passed by.
And, of course, who can pass on lunch?! One of the best Counter Services on property? You tell me!
I know it’s a long shot, but I really hope that they change Tomorrowland in WDW to match Tomorrowland in the movie (sort of like what they did with Pirates of the Caribbean). The current MK Tomorrowland is outdated, old, and doesn’t represent the future (tomorrow) at all. Plus, I just think place in the movie looks really cool!
I’ll reserve comment until I see the movie but do agree that some updating is in order. Stay tuned for tomorrow as we’ll take our first shot at just that – reimagineering Tomorrowland.
I love Tomorrowland! It is my favorite land. I still can’t wait for the movie, though.
We can’t wait either!
