I never thought I’d have to say this, my friends, but The Smokehouse’s “pig” came up “lame” this year. Can a pig come up lame?
The bun was overly dry. In comparison to past years, the portion of pork was much smaller.
The pork tasted overdone and dry, and the addition of BBQ sauce was the only thing that helped the dish become palatable.
Overall, a pretty big disappointment.
To be fair, as a two-time “champ”, we’ll give it another try at some point this week. For today, though, we’d say it needs to work really hard in order to get back in our good graces.
Sorry, Smokehouse, but it’s true.
