“Food” & Garden ’19 – Beef Brisket Burnt Ends and Smoked Pork Belly Slider – THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews (The American Adventure)

This item debuted last year, where I said … “Boy, does this have a lot going on!  Brisket burnt ends.  Pork belly.  All of that skewered by a tasty piece of sausage.  Wow!  You get an A+ for creativity, Smokehouse!”

Well, I’ll say this … it still has a lot going on.  It’s quite top-heavy, so it’s hard to keep upright as you walk to a table, but who cares?  It is fantastic!  The collection of tastes are phenomenal.  The portion is generous.  This dish was the All in WDW 2019 “Food” & Garden champion!

“Food” & Garden ’19 – Potato Pancakes with House-made Apple Sauce – Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market (Germany)

Back to Germany, you can’t argue with two pancakes, now, can you?  Although the ‘cakes, themselves, were very well-prepared, I felt that they needed a healthy pinch of salt … just to balance the sweetness of the apples.  Other than that, I’d recommend this dish.

“Food” & Garden ’19 – Japanese-style Fried Chicken on Shredded Cabbage – Hanami (Japan)

Had this one on a whim … and as a result of the fact that Hanami had no line at the particular time I walked past.  Lines were off the charts for most of the day I visited, by the way.

As for the dish … well, maybe it was one of the reasons for the absence of a line.  Much too simple of a preparation, it was quite overdone.  Overall, it was a big disappointment.  Pass it by, folks.

“Food” & Garden ’19 – Pulled Pig Slider – THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews (The American Adventure)

Sadly … dry and a bit disappointing.  When compared to 2018’s festival-winning version, The Smokehouse let me down.  In fact, I needed BBQ sauce in order to “choke” 2019’s version down.

On the favorable side, like last year, it was a healthy-sized portion.  Typically very good, I’d still recommend you try it … but only while hoping you get a better serving than I did.

“Food” & Garden ’19 – Shredded Beef Brisket – THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews (The American Adventure)

Hmm.  Shredded beef brisket?  OK.  Looked more like chunks, to me.  Anyway, the brisket, itself, was good.  The preparation itself, however, was a little bit under-whelming.  Frankly, I think The Smokehouse’s other options are more worthy of your hard-earned cash.
