It’s YOUR Turn to Engage in “Menu Battles”!

Hello, everyone!  Let me take you back a few weeks.  Did you ever get a chance to listen to WDW Main Street’s Episode #397 entitled “Menu Battles!”?  No?  Catch it here …

Episode #397 – Menu Battles!

What in ‘The World’ are “menu battles”, you ask?  Well, it’s pretty simple, actually … two menus “enter”.  Only one can survive!  Hah!

On the show, John Peters and I were on the “hot seat” as four anonymous WDW Table Services stepped up to compete in two separate confrontations.  Now, it’s your turn to participate!

So, what’s your job today?  It’s really easy!  All you need to do is peruse through a few menus and, then, VOTE, of course!

Having said that, our four “competitors” can’t be anonymous for you, now, can they?  Therefore, let’s introduce which two restaurants sauntered into the “arena” first!

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

50’s Prime Time Café

Click the names, above, to access their dinner menus, my friends.  From top-to-bottom, which of these two menus do you find to be more enticing?  Be objective, folks!

[]

Great!  Let’s move to the second skirmish.  How about these two Signature gems?

Todd English’s bluezoo

Flying Fish

Same drill … click on the name of the Table Service.  Which of these menus catch your fancy?  Given their offerings, where are you more likely to go?

[]

Finally, let’s let them all engage in a “four-way free-for-all”!  Call this vote a popularity competition!  Menus set aside for a minute, which of these four is most likely to host your next ADR?

[]

Great work, all!  We’ll be back in a few days with the results.  In the meantime, after carving through all of those appetizers, entrees, and desserts, I’m hungry!  Let’s eat!

Wow! Now, We Have 400 Reasons to Celebrate!

What a milestone we celebrate today, folks!  With this post, the WDW Main Street Podcast celebrates its 400th episode!

Wow!  400?!  Are you kidding me?  Who can talk that much for that long?  Um, the answer to that question will reveal itself to you in just a few seconds.

Naturally, I didn’t personally participate in all 400 shows.  Not even close.  Neither has John Peters, for that matter.  Even our retired colleague – Dennis Conroy – came on board well after the podcast was born.

Who can talk that much for that long?  The show’s founder and host, of course.  Yes, it is Doug Davis who has that incredible “gift of gab”.

Doug and I at Laguna Bar!

Main Street was his brain-child.  He’s hosted or co-hosted every single episode.  In truth, it is Doug that deserves all the credit for this feat!  Congratulations, Doug!  What a phenomenal accomplishment!

My friends, join John and myself, as we congratulate Doug.  Attend our little party.  Step into the WDW Main Street Pub and listen to …

“Flash Report”: BaseLine Tap House Opens for Business! Get Your First Look Here!

By Evan Chaisson

Good old Writer’s Stop has new life as its space has become BaseLine Tap House!  It opened today at 11 AM, folks, at Disney’s ever-transforming Hollywood Studios!

Of course, my wife and I are here giving it an initial try.  Let me give you a quick rundown …

The restaurant has a very upbeat atmosphere and a good vibe to it, I’d say.  There is plenty of seating … both indoors and outdoors.  For food, they simply serve snacks and small plates.

You have nine California beers to choose from, and they come in either a 16 ounce or 22 ounce pour.  You can also buy beer flights for which you get to choose any of four beers – a 5 ounce pour each.

They have a great selection, too!  The price points aren’t too bad, as a 22 ounce glass will run you $9.50.  A flight is $10.50.  Hey!  In addition, each beer comes with a card describing its taste.  An added little bonus, as it’s a piece of Disney swag you can take home with you!

I hope you enjoyed this sample of pics, everyone.  You sure do get a good flavor of what BaseLine has to offer!  We think this place is going to be pretty darn popular!
