Start YOUR Week Off at the Movies, Folks!

That’s right!  What a great way to kill the Monday “blues”!  Start your week off with a spectacular, exciting, magical journey into the movies … with ResortTV1!

Jump on board, remain seated throughout the ride, keep your hands and arms within the vehicle at all times, and for the safety of Josh and Jenna and the comfort of those around you, no flash photography please!

Oh, you all know where I’m going with this post, don’t you?  The Great Movie Ride was an unquestionable Hollywood Studios icon!

Hey!  Forget that.  It was a Disney icon!  For us, it was a “must do” family favorite and, therefore becomes … the 5th member of the All in WDW “Hall of Fame”!

Yes, this “lost” gem joins Maelstrom (2015),  Off Kilter (2016), Wishes (2017), and the Captain’s Grille’s Cabernet-braised Short Rib with Sweet Corn Risotto (2017) in our personal annals of WDW history!  Yahoo!

But, why honor Movie Ride now, you ask?  Well, my friends, the 2018 edition of the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Hollywood Studios Attraction “tournament” will kick off this coming Friday!  Stay tuned!

Sadly, for the first time, the beloved tour that brought movies to life will be omitted.  As a result, I thought it very fitting to honor the retired ride in a different way … in a much better way.

Now, back to ResortTV1.  Jump back in time to August 11, 2017 – two days before its final curtain call – to experience your last journey.  The queue and ride-through can be found by clicking  the picture below!

Still Caught in the Movies?! You Bet! It’s Great Movie Trivia!

Did you take the tour yesterday?  No?  Then, by all means, please stop back here to kick back, relax, and enjoy a fun-filled, action-packed ride through The Great Movie Ride!

After that, take a few seconds to tackle this challenging “brain teaser”.  How well do you know Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ signature attraction?

Newly refurbished, the Movie Ride’s attraction-concluding movie has been completely re-vamped.  Of course, Robert Osborne of  Turner Classic Movies is the first face you see when that movie begins.

He is, then, followed by a cavalcade of classic movie stars.  However, very shortly thereafter, of the choices below, who is the first contemporary actor or actress that you see?

Hey!  Don’t go away yet!  Did you get it?  Are you confident?  No?  For the answer, click this link to watch the new three-minute movie.  It’ll spill all the secrets!

The Great Movie “Photo Tour”! What’s Your Favorite Scene?

How about a break from Food & Wine?  I mean, you guys looked “stuffed” with Loaded Mac n’ Cheese, Seared Sea Scallops, and Cheddar Cheese Soup!

Kick back and relax this morning, my friends.  This morning, “I’ll be taking you from …” the comfort of your own home “… right into the middle of the action of the greatest films ever made – all on one [photo] tour!”

“But between you and me, this is no ordinary tour because The Great Movie Ride brings these movies to life … and puts you right in the middle of the action!”  Enjoy!

“On behalf of [All in WDW], I’d like to thank you for joining us on The Great [Photo Tour].  Now, before we do wrap this production, we still have one more [job] to do.  It’s called The [Vote]!

Which one of these is your favorite Great Movie Ride scene?!

Re-Booting Hollywood! The Great [BIG] Movie Ride Re-Furb! Trivia Revealed!

So?  How well did you know The Great Movie Ride?  Were my challenges too tough to handle?  Did you pass both “tests” with ease?  Hmm.  Let’s see!

Disney! 035

When it came to the first question, 50% of you “nailed” the correct answer.  As you enter the “gangster-crowded” underworld, you run right smack dab into Patrick J. Ryan’s Bar!  Great job!

Oh, by the way, here’s a nugget for you Cleveland, Ohio residents out there.  Did you notice the option called Jim Stamper’s Pub?  That’s a “throw back” to one of our old hang-outs.

The All in WDW family used to frequent Stamper’s Bar (formerly Stamper’s Grill Pub) when we lived in Fairview Park and Westlake.  It was a great place to visit with family and friends back in the day!

Back to business, though.  How about question #2?

As The Great Movie Ride escorts you past John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and through the Wild, Wild West, you pass the Cochise County Court House.  That was a tough question.  Only 12% of you got it right!  Sorry.

So, what about this upcoming re-furb?  Will we lose those two scenes?  It doesn’t seem so.

Described in the Orlando Sentinel as “some tweaks”, Disney’s recent agreement with Turner Classic Movies will yield ” … a makeover to the ride’s film-montage finale. It also will install a classic-movie-themed scene in which visitors can have photos taken.”

Plus, according to the Sentinel, “[b]oarding the ride, visitors will see digital displays of movie posters.”

And, “TCM host Robert Osborne will appear in a pre-ride video. Osborne will also provide audio for the ride, including more in-depth explanations of the film genres it explores.”

So, a few days ago, why did I refer to us having taken our “last trip” down The Great Movie Ride’s memory lane?  Well, the “[c]hanges should happen by Spring.”  Spring?  You mean, like this Spring?  Wow!

Frankly, this might or might not have been our last ride, but we wanted to make sure we got to experience the attraction as it is one last time before it gets changed.  Mission accomplished!

The Great Movie [Star]! Uh, I mean “Ride”! With Trivia?!

On our most-recent trip to The World, Mrs. All in WDW and I took a chance to enjoy The Great Movie Ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios one last time.  Mainly, because I wanted to visit its biggest star!

As I’ve said before, Casablanca is one of my favorite movies of all time and Humphrey Bogart is simply my favorite actor … period.

Wait!  Did I just say “one last time”?  Huh?

No, folks, as you know it’s not closing.  But, as I’m sure you’ve all heard, it will soon be undergoing a bit of a refurbishment.  Well, now, I’ve captured Humphrey for good!  Refurb away, Disney!

Hey!  While we were there, I also snagged a few details to “test” you with!  You remember Spaceship Earth and Soarin’ Trivia?  Well, you know how this goes, then.

How well do you know The Great Movie Ride?  Do you pay attention to the details?  Let’s see!

As you enter the “gangster-crowded” underworld, you’re met by a local bar or tavern.  What’s the name of that establishment?

As The Great Movie Ride escorts you past John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and through the Wild, Wild West, you pass a court house.  In what county is that seat of justice found?
