There Are Margaritas Everywhere!

Really!  There are!  I mean, do you remember me rambling on about one of my favorite Disney “signature” beverages a few months ago?  Disney’s Habañero Lime Margarita?

As I said back then, made of Patron Silver Tequila, Habañero Lime (a flavored syrup loaded with the heat of habañero and the tartness of lime), and a house-made Sweet-and-Sour, it is a symphony of “around-the-rim” saltiness, “margarita-mix” sour-sweetness, with a nice hot-pepper kick.

Visit “Beverage Recon: Habañero Lime Margarita!” and take a look at the pictures!  Have you ever had one?

Then, we stumbled upon BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas!  You want choices?  “Joe” has choices!  “He” serves a multitude of margaritas!  Well, OK, so maybe “he” has a half-dozen or so.  Check “him” out here at “Dining Recon: BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas!”

As our ‘almost’ daughter-in-law, Sarah, proclaimed, “This is much better than the margarita we got in Mexico!”  How about that for a controversial review?  Of course, that particular trip, her margarita was not from La Cava.  She’ll have to sample one of those at some point!

And, speaking of …next, Mrs. All in WDW and I paid a return visit to La Cava del Tequila!  We went for the tequila, but we enjoyed one of La Cava’s own signature cocktails … a Jalapeño Margarita!

Made with El Mayor premium silver Tequila, muddled jalapeños, fresh lime juice, cucumber, and agave nectar, it is served on the rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim.  And, you know what?  It was good … but not as good as my beloved Habañero Lime Margarita.

And, La Cava’s chips?  Served warm with guacamole, queso (warm white nacho cheese), and the best salsa we’ve tasted in a very long time, they were outstanding!  You have to go back to “Should We Have Another Tequila?” and take a glance.  Yum!

Finally, I have to admit … I didn’t even know that Downtown Disney sported a Margarita Bar!  Really?

Ranging from $8.75 to $12.50 in price, they peddle their own collection of margaritas.

And, look at this seating area!  How comfortable is this?  A nice umbrella table by the water?  Great view of Downtown Disney?  Who can argue with that?

Like I said, “There Are Margaritas Everywhere!”  Cheers, folks!  Where else have YOU found a great margarita in WDW?

Should We Have Another Tequila?

Yeah, this blog does seem to be fixated on adult beverages the last few days, doesn’t it?  Is that a bad thing if they’re Disney beverages?

Anyway, Mrs. All in WDW and I paid our first-ever visit to La Cava del Tequila about two months ago.  When we returned to Epcot during Easter weekend, we just couldn’t resist a return engagement.

Actually, we went in search of their Camarena Reposado.  We quite enjoyed it on our first try.  This time, however, we caught La Cava at a relatively quiet time and landed a coveted table.  What luck!

Quite a busy, busy place!

Quite a busy, busy place.  You can see my empty chair, there, by the server.

The bar was seeing most of the action.

The bar was seeing most of the action.

What did we order?  Well, to start, there were the tequila shots.  See them, off to the side? Salt, shots, lime, and sangrita?

Ah, what a feast!

Ah, what a feast!

Oh, OK.  So, there were the nachos.  Very good nachos.  Warm.  Salty.  And, the accompaniments – guacamole, queso (warm white nacho cheese), and the best salsa we’ve tasted in a very long time – were outstanding!

Sold as the Trio Combo, it was a bit pricey at $16.00, but it paired really nicely with the tequila, and the …

… Jalapeño margarita.  Made with El Mayor premium silver Tequila, muddled jalapeños, fresh lime juice, cucumber, and agave nectar, it is served on the rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim.

To be honest, for me, it was just OK.  I tasted much more cucumber than jalapeño and even wondered, for a moment, if they had mistakenly served me their Cucumber margarita by mistake.  At $13.00, I’ll stick with the $9.00 shots of Camarena.

The restaurant, itself, is a bit dark and small.  The tables are quite crowded together, but the atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing.  Or, was it the tequila that got us relaxed?

If you’re a fan of tequila, or nacho chips for that matter, stop in and visit the “cave” of tequila.  It’s a great place to temporarily duck the crowds and escape the heat!

Tequila Recon: La Cava del Tequila

It would be unfair for me to title this piece a “dining recon” because, well, there was no dining going on that night.  Although, this particular venue does offer a variety of tortilla chip-oriented tapas.

To be truthful, we were strolling around World Showcase with friends, and we just dropped in to pay a quick visit to this dark and crowded “cave” of tequila.  If you’re unfamiliar, it can be found in the heart of the Epcot World Showcase Mexico pavilion’s Aztec pyramid.

La Cava is renowned for its unique and vastly enjoyable variety of margaritas – delicious refreshments like Avocado, Blood Orange, Jalapeño, or Cucumber.  However, on this visit – our first, if you can believe it(!) – margaritas weren’t on our minds.

For a full view of La Cava’s extensive list of tequilas and margaritas, check out their site at this link.

So.  How did we make our choice from among this cast of a “thousand” options?  Fortunately for us, we had a bartender in our touring party that day.  Since we were looking for a good tequila, she pointed us in the direction of Familia Camarena.

Served with fresh lime, salt, and a tasty sangrita chaser, we settled on the Camarena Reposado.  It was very good.  Mrs. All in WDW loved it!  The sangrita was excellent as well!  It was so good that we asked for the recipe.

One of our favorite things to do on a Summer weekend is to sit out on our balcony, bathing in the warmth and sunshine, while enjoying a refreshing “diet” margarita.  Diet?  Let me explain … have you ever used Crystal Light drink mix?

Go to Target, and buy their brand of low-cal (no-cal?) Margarita Mix.  You’ll find it among the Crystal Light.  Mix the drink mix in a standard bottle of water.  Follow the box’s directions.  Add tequila and lime, and you’ll have a tasty margarita!

Now, since I was able to find that delicious Camarena Reposado in Atlanta for the very affordable price of $20 per bottle, will it make it into one of those margaritas?  Maybe not.

Actually, it might be best for enjoying all by itself.  Very smooth.  Perfect for sipping or excellent for shooting, it, and that sangrita(!), are just two more winners offered by La Cava del Tequila!

Winner! Winner! Steak Dinner!

We have a champion!

After three days of voting, Le Cellier – Canada’s exceedingly popular steak house – fends off the ‘pizza-and-pasta attack’ of Via Napoli to become the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Table Service Restaurant!  Are we really surprised?

Le Cellier

According to Disney, World Showcase’s home of tender steaks, fresh seafood, and cheesy poutine fries “… recalls the wine cellars of …

Eating Epcot! – The Finale

If you didn’t have a chance to watch the voting yesterday, we came very close to what would have been called an enormous upset.

In short, we had a much lighter-than-usual day of voting on Monday, and it was very nearly the end of Via Napoli.  When I shut the old iMac down last night, Coral Reef had a slight edge over “The World’s” best pizzeria.  By the time I woke up, all was …
