Day 1 Recap: Food & Wine ’13 “Soft” Opening Day!

Good morning, my friends!  Did you get a chance to enjoy our tour through World Showcase yesterday?

If not, and if you missed the pics, let me present a pictorial summary of what we found when we “invaded” Epcot to see if they were going to do a ‘practice run’ (er, soft opening) of the “festival of all festivals” on day before the real Opening Day.

First off, it was a busy, BUSY day for Mrs. All in WDW and I.  At about 7 AM yesterday morning, we coaxed “the goods” out of one of the Cast Members at our resort.  With a sheepish smile, when pressed, they admitted that the festival’s soft opening would start at 2 PM.  Well, in actual fact, they opened at Noon!

You saw the pics yesterday – or, you’ll see them below – but we made a 5-hour marathon run through eleven marketplaces while sampling twelve of our Pre-Festival Top 25 items.  We … were … stuffed!  I don’t know how some of these bloggers do it!  Some sites covered all thirty “countries”!  Yikes!

Anyway, enjoy the pics below and REMEMBER!  Mrs. All in WDW and I are back for another round today!  Oh!  And, this is the day we record our three episodes (Brazil, Australia, and Singapore) with Rick Howard of Kingdom Magic Vacations and the Travel with Rick video-cast crew!  Wow, what another busy, WONDERFUL, Food & Wine day!!  Stick with US!
