Short and sweet, today, my friends. But, I promise … I’ll pay for the “short” with something sweet. And, spicy! I’ll add something spicy too!
Where were we? Oh, yeah! What will we not be eating at the 2015 Epcot “Food” & Garden Festival? Hmm.
Well, wait ’til you see this group. I’ll tell you this … Mrs. All in WDW says I have something against vegetables. Hey! I told you all the other day. I’m a “meat and potatoes” type of guy!
Here goes …
- Kale Salad – Urban Farm Eats
For you fans of kale out there, can you do me a favor please? Close your eyes … or skip down a couple of paragraphs.
Kale? Yuck. Billed as being served with dried cherries, almonds, goat cheese, and a white balsamic vinaigrette, I find myself more intrigued by those four ingredients than by the dish’s “star”.
- Quinoa Vegetable “Naanwich” – Urban Farm Eats
For you fans of quinoa out there, can you do me a favor please? Just kidding.
Well, really, I’m not. Actually, sometimes you have to cut an item off your menu just because you can’t bear to eat another bite. This is one of those times.
I have to admit, I’m slightly intrigued by the “Naanwich”. However, unless Sanaa is making the naan, I’m going to have to pass.
- Pinwheel of Mozzarella, Prosciutto, and Ciabatta Bread – Primavera Kitchen
Italy. Really? OK. Let’s review some history. Do you remember your 2013? The very first “Food” & Garden.
You called it Asparagi con Aragosta all’Ortolana. Or, call it green asparagus, lobster, and garden cocktail sauce.
It was delicious! Mrs. All in WDW even made it at home … with shrimp. See?
Can’t you present something like this again, Italy? Instead, it’s a Pinwheel of Mozzarella, Prosciutto, and Ciabatta Bread? C’mon.
- Veggie Quesadilla – Jardin de Fiestas
Assuming this is the same dish that Mexico presented last year, and assuming it still contains mushrooms …
Well, I’ll just say no.
- Vegetable Spring Roll – Lotus House
Look, I’m sure that China’s Spring Rolls are quite good. They look delicious, in fact.
But, frankly, aren’t Spring Rolls kind of “a dime a dozen”? You can find ’em anywhere!
Finally, before I let you go, I promised you something sweet, now didn’t I?
We have to go back to The Smokehouse for another dish that’s not on my “official” menu. Does that mean we won’t sample a serving? Mmm. Wouldn’t you?
It’s a “Piggylicous” Bacon Cupcake! How can anyone turn this down?
And, when it comes to “spicy”, The Smokehouse scores once again … with Billy’s Chilies beer!
Take my word for it, folks. Go to The American Adventure. Visit The Smokehouse. Grab a Pulled Pig Slider. Wash it down with a Billy’s. Then, quench your sweet tooth with a bacon cupcake. You won’t be sorry!
Next? The All in WDW 2015 “Food” & Garden Pre-Festival Top 15!
The kale salad actually sounds really good to me. I guess I’m one of those people!
But I’m with you on Italy’s pinwheel sounding really uninspired.
I know. Isn’t it? Italy REALLY needs to step it up!
