The Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Rocks!

Wow!  I’ll leave the poll opened, folks, but this one was pretty much over from the opening bell!  Take a look at this …

  • Leave it Alone – 55.35%
  • Rehabilitate – 39.07%
  • Eliminate – 5.58%

If that doesn’t constitute a landslide, then I don’t know what one looks like!  The results?  You have spoken!  Hollywood’s iconic Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will continue to live on into Studios history!

Hey!  Even those that recommended “Rehabilitate” only recommended fairly minor changes – mostly to the introduction video.  In the end, most everyone loves the attraction!  What else did you have to say?  Let’s take a look …

First, I’ll tell you, there were a lot of “Just leave it alone!”  Many of you left it that plain and simple.  Having said that, some of you spoke with a bit more emotion.

“Leave it be!  That’s one of my favorite rides in Florida!”  Or, “Take anything else in the park and do whatever you want with it, but I will fight someone over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.”  Now, that’s some love!

“Keep it … a definite favorite!”  And, “Love it the way it is!”  Plus, “Best ride at Disney!  Leave it alone!”

“Get rid of one of the most popular attractions in Hollywood?  I think NOT!  Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is great.  Sure, update the intro, but the rest is awesome!”

How about this?  “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is a favorite of mine.  I’ve always loved Aerosmith, and I adore the theming.  It could always be touched up and improved but re-theming the attraction would break my heart.”

Finally, “NEVER!  Don’t touch it.  I’ll handcuff myself to it in protest!  Who’s with me?”  Like I said, a lot of emotion.

Of course, there were some practical viewpoints out there.  “Also to consider – who knows how much [Disney] paid to use the Aerosmith name and produce merchandise using it.  Maybe the contract stipulates that it’s a permanent WDW fixture or maybe it has an expiration date.  Regardless, WDW is going to milk it [for] every last penny invested and then some.”

New ideas were also tossed about.  Such as, “Refurb and replace with the movie that has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time – Guardians of the Galaxy!”

“Update and do a bunch of different music genres – Queen, Beatles, etc.”

“Turn it into a mine car roller coaster like in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”

“I have heard rumors that it could he re-themed to be a Monsters, Inc. roller coaster.  That would be cool, and it would fit with the overall ‘new’ theme of the park.”

Regardless of what Disney does or doesn’t do, however, your message to them is crystal clear, my friends.  Modestly update this exciting attraction if you want, but never take it away!

Good thing, too.  It’s one of my personal favorites, as well.  I don’t ever want to have to enter it into All in WDW’s Hall of Fame of retired attractions!
