A Peek Inside Todd English’s bluezoo!

Poor Todd English.  In our recently completed polls, he got very little love.  In fact, his Signature WDW restaurant – bluezoo – got blown away by its competition.

In two separate match-ups, I asked you, which of these menus do you find to be more enticing?  As I mentioned, in our first showdown, BoardWalk’s Flying Fish destroyed bluezoo with an utter lack of remorse.

Our second match-up was equally a landslide as Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ bested 50’s Prime Time Café, with ease.  Given Prime Time’s popularity, that’s a bit of a surprise, wouldn’t you say?

To add insult to Todd’s injury, however, when we engaged them in a “four-way free-for-all”, bluezoo gained just one puny vote when stacked up to the other three competitors.  Homecomin’ beat Flying Fish by one vote in that popularity competition, by the way.

But, back to bluezoo … like I said, poor Todd.  Actually, speaking on behalf of the All in WDW family, we have almost as many fond memories of bluezoo as we do of another of our favorites – California Grill.

Therefore, we feel that it is fitting to celebrate bluezoo in its crushing defeat.  A consolation prize, as it were.  My friends, from decor to menu, take a little peek outside and inside Todd English’s bluezoo!

Another Satisfied All in WDW “Customer”?

Oh, OK.  You’re right.  I don’t have “customers”.  I have Disney friends.  So, how about I name this post, “Another Satisfied Disney Guest?”

I bet this happens to you too, but I get asked for WDW advice … a lot.  I mean, I’m the guy that friends, family, and co-workers walk up to and say, “Hey! We were thinking about going to Disney.  Where should we go?  What should we do?  What is it going to cost?  When should we go?”

Yikes!  Where do I start?

Anyway, do you remember the question I fielded a few weeks ago?  Fantasy baseball expert, Joel Henard, was heading to Major League Baseball’s Winter Meetings as a camera man for Bleacher Report, and he asked, “How can I get to the Dolphin?”

Flash Report! – WDW Dolphin

The WDW Dolphin is getting a much-needed facelift. It IS looking a bit sun-bleached, and fresh paint is making an appearance!

But, that’s not all. Todd English’s bluezoo is currently “down” for a short refurb. Lotta work goin’ on!

Flying Fish Wins!

I am dying for some red snapper!  But, not just any red snapper – I am craving the potato-wrapped red snapper from the Boardwalk’s Flying Fish Cafe.  I have been for quite some time.  How can’t you be?  Just take a look, courtesy of Disney Insider.

Crescent Lake Cuisine! – Final Four

Oh, no! bluezoo!! Shula’s!! Say it isn’t so!

Two of my favorite restaurants – EVER – are Chef Michael Symon’s Lola Bistro in our old stomping grounds of Cleveland, Ohio and New York Prime near our new digs in Atlanta, Georgia. For the most part, those two fine establishments are the benchmarks by which I, at least, measure other restaurants.

Todd English’s bluezoo dances right up there in the culinary stratosphere with Michael Symon’s flagship restaurant, and Shula’s Steak House in the WDW Dolphin is the only place I have ever been to that rivals New York Prime’s filet mignon. It just broke my heart to watch them both go down to utter defeat. Boooo!

OK, I’m over it. The good news is that …
