Yeah! Disney is cleaning through, and shutting down, Studios attractions as if they’re on a binge. What is left? Actually, you’ll be surprised. I was.
Take a look at last year’s All in WDW Readers’ Top 10 Disney’s Hollywood Studios Attractions, for example …
1. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
2. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
3. Toy Story Midway Mania!
4. Fantasmic!
5. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
6. The Great Movie Ride
7. Muppet Vision 3D
8. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
9. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!
10. Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage
Certainly, we’ve heard “elimination rumors” about a few of these, but all ten “live on”! That’s good news, right? There is something left to do in Hollywood!
And, keep in mind, the Readers’ Top 10’s come with a specific purpose. Imagine this … one of your friends or family declares and asks, “Hey! You’re a big Disney fan! We’re going to Hollywood Studios. What should we do there?”
My friends, why make a list from scratch when you, the fans and voters, have already made one? Introducing the convenience of the All in WDW Readers’ Top 10’s! Use them as your recommendations!
Anyway, back to the Studios’ disappearing attractions. Pleasantly, I discovered, as I sorted through 2014’s final list, that we have to dig sixteen attractions deep into our voting results before we find a retired experience.
- Voyage of The Little Mermaid
- Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream
- The Magic of Disney Animation
- Jedi Training Academy
- Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show
- Studio Backlot Tour
Of course, like the Top 10, one or more of these are most-likely already on the “chopping block”. Sad.
So, where does this leave us? It still leaves us with 2015’s campaign to “elect” the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios Attraction!
You know the drill. VOTE for ONE attraction in each group. The Top 2 in each group will advance to our “Elite Eight”! Go ahead, my friends! VOTE!
Voted 🙂
Thanks!
Could I be the only one that loves the old Hollywood glam of the movie ride and isnt ecstatic about a scifi takeover???
Oh, we LOVE the movie ride too … but, sadly, it doesn’t carry the park on par with something like Harry Potter. Maybe Star Wars can?
You are right about what draws the crowds- i guess I just already miss the moving production feel we keep losing!
I’m afraid we’re all going to need to get used to the idea of “Hollywood” being a completely different park than it currently is.
Sigh….
I rode the great movie ride for the first time a couple weeks ago (after numerous trips to HS) and I absolutely loved it. But I’d still have to say my favorites are Rockin Roller coaster and Star Tours 🙂
All GREAT attractions!
