Good morning, my friends! How is the World of All in WDW! Did you have a great weekend? I surely hope so.
Now, where did we last leave ourselves? Oh, yes. We “elected” the 2015 Readers’ Favorite WDW Deluxe Resort!
Hmm. So. This was how this week was supposed to go …
Mrs. All in WDW and I spent this past Memorial Day enjoying all the grandeur of Disney’s newly refurbished Polynesian Village Resort.
We dined on delicious cuisine. We sipped refreshing beverages. We snapped dozens of beautiful shots. Why? Well, to prepare for the celebration, of course!
Mrs. All in WDW and I wanted to be ready to present you with an homage to the three-time “champ”! After all, the Polynesian couldn’t possibly lose, right? Right?
And, then, the Beach Club happened. Sheesh!
Clearly, I was taken completely by surprise by last week’s result. Otherwise, we would have enjoyed our Memorial Day lunch on Crescent Lake. Ah, such is life.
It was a great result, my friends. For us, any resort on Crescent Lake is a fabulous choice. But, in this “tournament’s” case, I never thought that any other resort, other than the Poly, had a real chance.
What happened? It had to be lingering effects of Disney’s massive refurbishment. Much needed, for sure, but imagine how you’d feel if you laid out “big bucks” to see this …
I took those shots a few months back – when the Polynesian was a maze of well-decorated walls. It had to be a less-than-magical experience for plenty of Guests.
Well, into the breach stepped the Beach Club.
A perennial Polynesian rival, you could call it the “crown jewel” of Crescent Lake. With the best pool on property, and access to plenty of dining options, it is a very fitting champion.
However, back to our Memorial Day “research”. Is the Polynesian still a construction zone to be avoided? Not so much, my friends. In fact, now that it has begun to come together, I think it’s fair to say that Disney has done a fabulous job with the refurb. Take a look!
This is just a small sampling of what Mrs. All in WDW and I found in WDW’s South Pacific paradise. More pictures to come in the days and weeks ahead!
We especially love what they did behind Captain Cook’s. A huge “patio”, laden with tables and adorned with a sea of bright orange umbrellas, provides tons of needed seating and a great view of the pool!
Pretty nice, eh? Beautiful job, all in all! I think you’ll agree … Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will likely be back full-force in 2016. In fact, if our first visit is any indication, it’ll be back bigger and better than ever!
