Who Loves Lobster Rolls?! Who Loves Crew’s Cup Lounge?!

Good Saturday, my friends!  Welcome back to All in WDW!  I know.  Where have I been all week?  Busy, busy, busy.  Sometimes “real” life just plain consumes your days!

Now, I know, by now, you’ve seen my picture of Food & Wine 16’s New England Lobster Roll.  No?  Well, here it is again …

2016's "loaded" Lobster Roll

A relatively small “bite”, like I have in the past, I found it to be “Just OK”.  How can I not love a lobster roll, you ask?

Hey, I’ve many-times claimed, in print and over the “pod-waves”, that I don’t like my lobster served ice cold!  Give me a freshly-cooked, and hot, lobster and some drawn butter.  Then, I’m happy.

In spite of all that, though, I keep sampling different “roll” recipes across Disney property.  It is lobster, after all!

So, enter the Yacht Club’s Crew’s Cup Lounge!  They serve, you guessed it, a New England-style Lobster Roll!

How was it, you ask?  Well, sadly, the pictures make it look a bit bigger than it really was.  I will give the crew, this, though … it was a lot of lobster!  Worth $19.00?  Hmmm.

Served chilled (of course) on a butter-toasted (hot dog-sized) roll with your choice of vegetable orzo salad or chips, I found it to be – don’t hate me – “Just OK”.

We’ve been to Crew’s Cup Lounge many times over the years, my friends.  It’s one of our most-favorite spots.  Truthfully, regardless of the verdict, I’m very glad I tried their lobster.

When it comes to our next visit, however, I’m going to stick with the Cup’s $14 Shaved Beef Sandwich.  Very delicious!  If you want to see a picture of it, click back to this post!

See ya’ real soon, folks!

The Best Bar on WDW Property?

Well, my friends, if the BoardWalk Resort’s Belle Vue Lounge isn’t the best bar on Walt Disney World property, it has to be one of the best themed!

Also referred to as the Belle Vue Room (by its bartenders), this quaint and beautifully-furnished venue is a throwback to yesteryear.

Mid 1900’s radio shows pour out of the speakers.  Wonderful cocktails are served by its small, yet well-stocked, bar.  Board games are even available for all to enjoy!

Open in the morning for, mainly, a Continental breakfast, the Belle Vue is a great way to spend an evening with a delicious refreshment, friends, and family.

Folks, everyone is flocking to nearby AbracadaBar.  The problem with that newly-opened venue is that it is very small.  Can’t find a seat there?  That’s not a shock.

Step upstairs to the Belle Vue Lounge.  It’s one of our favorite spots.  Much more laid back than its new, “magical”, competitor, for sure, but we promise you won’t be disappointed.

Dining Recon: The Wave Lounge

Those of you that have followed me for the last two years will know that I’ve “reconned” The Wave… of American Flavors once before.  What?  Are you kidding me?  Did you miss it?  Then, by all means, please stop back for a quick look!

Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, The Wave is a bit of a hidden gem, in our opinion.  Early last week, in celebration of a drenching, rainy Disney day, it was also the “kick-off” site of an All in WDW holiday monorail “crawl”.

The Wave Entry

Sporting a generous list of Appetizer and Entree options, you can order off the same menu as the Guests sitting in the main restaurant.

In this day’s case, I couldn’t escape the combination of crab cakes and fish tacos.

Actually meant to be an app for two, the Lump Crab-Florida Rock Shrimp Cakes and Sustainable Fish Tacos made for a great lunch entree and was absolutely delicious!

Mrs. All in WDW ordered, and really enjoyed, the Grilled Chicken Breast.  She commented that the accompanying Sun-dried Tomato Spread was outstanding!

The decor is a bit on the plain side.  You know … the lounge looks like a bar.

But, if you don’t want to sit and visit with the bartender, there’s plenty of room to relax in “mood-lit” peace!

Like I said, we think The Wave Lounge is a bit of a hidden gem.  It’s a nice place to get out of the sunny, Florida heat.  Or, as in our case, it’s a great escape from the torrential rains!

WDW Recon: The Belle Vue Lounge

One of our favorite things to do is to chill at one of WDW’s many lounges. I’ll bet you know which ones I mean – places like Tambu Lounge (Polynesian), Crew’s Cup Lounge (Yacht Club), and Belle Vue Lounge (BoardWalk Inn).

If you’ve never been to the Belle Vue, in the mornings, it is a quick stop for breakfast. Grab yourself some coffee, milk, juice, bagels, fruit, yogurt, cold cereal or muffins. They even have small versions of Mickey muffins! In the evenings, however, they don’t serve food. Or, so we thought.

The bartenders – Allen and Tim – at the Belle Vue are fantastic! This trip, we asked them about the absence of food or snack options. What we were told is …
