I just have to get back into Food & Wine, my friends! After all, the festival is in full force. In fact, I’m getting reports that each weekend day has been even more jam-packed than ever!
The “party” still has one month to run, and it’s well past time. You’ve seen my Pre-Ranking. I’ve gone to Disney and tasted the dishes. Let’s take a look at the bottom of my Final menu!
Welcome to the 2015 All in WDW Epcot Food & Wine Festival FINAL Top 25!
Not-So Honorable Mention – Seared Venison Loin – New Zealand (Pre-Festival: 25)
Yeah, I’ve been very vocal regarding New Zealand’s deer. I didn’t like it. Hey, I’ve had plenty of venison before this!
I’ve tasted venison roast, venison sausage, and deer jerky. I’m sorry. It just didn’t taste good. Bye-bye, Bambi.
25 – Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp – Australia (Pre-Festival: 22)
Too sweet. Plain and simple. Spice it up a bit, Australia, and maybe you’d have a chance.
24 – Roasted Pork – Dominican Republic (Pre-Festival: 8)
Wow! This one really fell down the charts. The pork was kind of … tasteless.
It was Opening Weekend when I sampled it, I know. But, Dominican. You can’t do better?
23 – Layered Meat Pie with Mashed Yucca – Brazil (Pre-Festival: 19)
Like Dominican’s pork, I really felt that the meat in this pie lacked flavor.
It was simply lumpy mashed “potatoes” over meat. Um, I think I could make that!
22 – Yuca Soufflé topped with Griddled Cheese – Dominican Republic (Pre-Festival: 23)
Honestly, Dominican should have dropped the Yuca and stuck with the cheese.
Seriously, the griddled cheese, itself, was outstanding! The Yuca? Not so much.
21 – New England Lobster Roll – Hops & Barley (Pre-Festival: Unranked)
A bonus item breaks into the Top 25, my friends!
Actually, if this roll held a bunch more lobster, it would have gained a much higher rank. Very tasty, though.
There you go, folks. That’s the first installment of my Final Top 25! Come back tomorrow for the next ten items!
