Good morning, foodies! Did you catch our initial run through Food & Wine yesterday? No? Well, here are the highlights … and the delicious pictures!
We kicked the day off with the Jamaican Beef Patty served by Islands of the Caribbean. Not at all what we expected.
A bit too much “dough” and too little beef filling, we felt. In addition, although Mrs. All in WDW thought it was plenty spicy, I could have used more “heat”.
Patagonia’s Roasted Verlasso Salmon delivered another generous-sized, great-tasting experience.
The salmon was cooked perfectly. I can’t rave enough about the accompanying Quinoa Salad. The whole item is just phenomenal!
On the other hand, the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce from Patagonia fell a bit flat. It was a mixed performance, to be honest.
The beef was a bit overdone this time around. Having said that, the flavors of the purée and chimichurri were fantastic!
If the serving size we received from Farm Fresh is going to be the “norm”, then their Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Nueske’s Pepper Bacon might win biggest portion size of the Festival.
The bacon definitely makes the dish. We felt that the “mac” was just a bit bland and ordinary. I pre-ranked this one at #19. I think that’s about right on point.
Hawaii really brought “it” this year! Annually a “contender”, their Kalua Pork Slider was fabulous.
Moist pork. Nice spice. Yum! My beloved New Zealand Lamb Meatball might want to start worrying!
Mrs. All in WDW hijacked the site yesterday in order to submit a “proper” review of her cherished Australian Grilled Lamb Chop.
“This one’s [a] clear winner!”, she claims. “The chop is perfect. The potato crunchies really put it over the top! Get it, people!”
Mexico’s Battered Shrimp Taco might be one of the most underrated items at the Festival.
A small portion but very tasty. It’s not going to “win” All in WDW’s Food & Wine “championship” anytime soon, but it’s worth trying.
More food pics coming later today, everyone! Please stay tuned throughout today as we “eat” our way through Epcot!
