Mr. Toad’s Journey to Nowhere?

Let’s see a show of hands.  How many here got the chance to experience Mr. Toad’s zany dash through the dark?  Anyone?  Anyone?  Ah, there, you are!

If you’re looking in our direction, you won’t see any “paws” raised to the sky.  Sadly, we missed out on enjoying this iconic attraction.

It was so beloved, in fact, that people like us held low-key protests, called “Toad-Ins,” outside the ride before it finally disappeared from Walt Disney World’s landscape!

Coming into existence on one of the most wonderful dates in history, October 1, 1971, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride was one of Disney’s Magic Kingdom’s opening day attractions.

On what day did Disney send Mr. Toad back to live in his marsh, river, lake, pond, swamp, or wherever he decided to retire?

And, after Mr. Toad closed his doors, what attraction did WDW build in its place?
