Welcome to Ireland?!

Welcome to Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant!  It IS the All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Downtown Disney Table Service!

I got a comment on Facebook yesterday saying, “Raglan Road is gonna destroy the others”[!]  Wow, was that prophetic?!  A destruction, it was.  Handily defeating its competition, Downtown Disney’s Irish pub claimed its spot on our list of favorites.

In Raglan’s own words, “There’s only one wee problem with 99.9% of the Irish pubs in America.  They’re not Irish.  Oh, they use green tablecloths and put dainty shamrocks on the menu – some even say Slainte.  But to be a true Irish pub, you need to be …

… from Ireland.  Which we are. The owners, the Chef, even the bleedin’ building’s from Ireland.  So come to Raglan Road when you want an Irish, Irish pub.”

According to their website, the restaurant was “built entirely in Ireland” and “shipped lock, stock, and beer barrel to Downtown Disney.”  As mentioned earlier, even their chef is Irish!  Master Chef Kevin Dundon is “[o]ne of Ireland’s best-loved chefs” and “can usually be found busy at work in the Dunbrody House kitchens and cookery school”.  Well, he can!  His own website says so!

For your knowledge, the Dunbrody Country House Hotel [in] Ireland is a small luxury hotel in Wexford located on … Ireland’s south[ern] coast”.  It is owned and operated by Kevin and his wife.  Now, that’s Irish!  Check the Dunbrody House’s website to learn more!

Raglan is one place that Mrs. All in WDW and I have missed, so far, and, evidently, that is a mistake that we’ll have to remedy in the very near future.  Trust me, we’ll take your advice!  Hey, if so many of you feel this strongly that Raglan Road is the Downtown “place to be” – an overwhelming number of you, in fact! – then, it’s got to be added to our “to do” list.

It’s time for us to stop and visit … Ireland!  Oh, and one more thing.  Leave us a comment please!  What should we order when we get there?!
