In Disney’s Magic Kingdom, the ride “starts out [on] the Amazon River”. It “transitions into the Congo River in Africa.”
After encountering pygmies, pythons, and gorillas, the attraction transforms into a “joy ride” on the Nile River.
And, finally, a few elephants, lions, and headhunters later, we escape onto the Mekong River.
It is China’s Yangtze River that we do not travel on this epically “punny” ride!
Can I pass on one very interesting little detail before I offer you an optional extra credit question? Yes? OK, here it is …
If you’ve experienced the attraction, do you remember “a piece of a downed airplane [that can] can be seen along the shoreline”?
“This is the back half of the Lockheed Model 12 Electra Junior found at The Great Movie Ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the Casablanca scene”!
Great usage of your props, Disney!
OK. Extra credit. It’s optional, but take a shot! Thinking about the very same rivers. Which one passes through the most number of countries?
I’ll give you a hint … the Amazon River isn’t the answer as it passes through three. Those would be Brazil, Colombia, and Peru.
Oh, and stop back later. I’ll post the correct answer later today!
