Or, if you prefer, “Asparagus and Shrimp” … All in WDW style!
I wanted Mrs. All in WDW to write this one, but she politely declined. Having said that, I can’t take any of the credit. It is her masterpiece, and I can only eat and enjoy the low-calorie, delicious meal that follows.
Back in Spring, at the 2013 Epcot “Food” & Garden Festival, the Italy marketplace – Primavera Kitchen – introduced us to Asparagi con Aragosta all’Ortolana. Or, call it green asparagus, lobster, and garden cocktail sauce.
Well, even though we don’t love cold lobster, we really enjoyed that plate, prompting me to write, “I can tell you one thing. I’m not a huge fan of either asparagus or cold lobster, but this dish was very good. Way to go, Italy! I’ll be back.”
Sadly, we never went back for a second helping, but, undaunted, Mrs. All in WDW came up with her own simple version of Chef Jens Dahlmann’s creation.
The key word is “simple”.
- Thin asparagus spears are steamed.
- Fresh peeled and deveined shrimp are seasoned and sautéed in garlic and olive oil until done.
- The asparagus is laid on the plate and topped by the shrimp.
- The finale is a drizzle of Greek feta salad dressing.
The result is a very tasty and filling meal. Enjoy!
