So, riddle me this … the United Kingdom changed their name from The Cottage to The Buttercup Cottage in 2014. Does that mean they’re serving buttercups? Of course, not. But, what other change did they make that they should not have made?
The Buttercup Cottage
All in WDW’s Overview: Easy answer. They should never, under any circumstances, have gotten rid of 2013’s Baked Goat’s Brie. Ever! I still dream of that surprisingly delectable delight.
I think we hit the cottage at a bad time, to be honest, because their “freshly-baked” Potato and Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with smoked salmon tartare didn’t seem so freshly-baked. Also, the salmon wasn’t as good as I had remembered it being on our second tasting in 2013. Should you try it? Sure. Will you love it? Maybe. Did we? It was only OK.
Now, the Pork and Apple Sausage Roll, on the other hand? I wish there had been more! Two little pieces? Don’t you know that Mrs. All in WDW and I share these things, Buttercup? Seriously, though, the roll and the “piccalilli” – relish of chopped pickled vegetables and spices – were very good!
Don’t forget to pop back over to our 2014 “Food” & Garden Flash Reports! It’s all there! Bon appetit!
