Hey, Disney! Here’s an Illuminating Result! We Have a Winner!

Good morning, my friends!

I truly hope that someone at Disney takes note of the result we’ve just delivered.  In fact, put away your market research, Disney.  We’ve done the job for you.

Rumors still pop up now and then … Disney is plotting and planning.  Diabolical park managers have decided it’s time for change.  Imagineers have obediently gone into development.

Of what, you ask?  Well, sadly, it has been rumored for years (I googled it, and the oldest report I found was dated 2008!) that a new fireworks extravaganza is being developed for Epcot.

More Illuminations

What?!  Actually, the fact that this has been rumored “for years” gives me hope.  Maybe all these reports are just groundless speculations –  bunches of smoke.

Maybe Disney’s own market research efforts haven’t let us down.  Maybe we’ve already told them what we really want.  But, if not, let the world of All in WDW scream it loud and clear …

Congratulations, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth!  You are the 2016 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction!  May Disney take note of your victory, and may your reign last for a long, long time!

Folks, what are your thoughts about the potential replacement of our Epcot “champ”?  Please weigh in, below.

In the meantime, thank you very much for all your votes and support these past few days!  We’ll visit Disney’s Magic Kingdom to crown its “king” in March!

Epcot’s Phenomenal Finale! Which Attraction Will Win?

Yesterday, I asked Mrs. All in WDW which two of our remaining eight attractions had won her votes.

“I voted for both festivals,” she simply said. “Those times of the year are when I enjoy being in Epcot the most.”

Excellent!  If anything embodies the mindset of choosing a Readers’ Favorite, that point of view says it all.  Great work, my dear!

Spaceship Earth & Palms

My friends, we’ve made it to the big, phenomenal finale, and you have ONE final vote to cast.

Four phenomenal attractions remain.  One will become the 2016 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction.  Which will it be?

What an Epcot “Adventure”! VOTE in Round #3!

Well, I know that at least one Disney fan out there will be really happy with the “Exceptional Eight” we created yesterday.  Who?  The WDW Main Street Podcast’s host – Doug Davis.

Poor, Doug.  The last two runnings of our Epcot tournament have caused him great anguish.  In fact, the lack of support (in his eyes) that we have given to The American Adventure prompted quite a few spirited monologues.

Last year, for instance, Adventure finished at #13.  A travesty, in Doug’s mind, he should feel quite happy now.  In 2016, his beloved tribute to American history is assured of a spot in our Top 8!

Below, I present TWO groups.  Like yesterday, you can vote for ONE attraction in each group.  The Top 2 finishers in each group will move on to our BIG finale!

Which of these will become the 2016 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction?  You decide!  Just VOTE!

Evidently, We’re Still Soarin’! Favorite Epcot Attractions – Round #2!

Good morning, my friends!  Sorry for the delay in getting Round #2 out and about.  I’m fighting a virus, and I just couldn’t do the work in the wee hours this morning!

As a student of Psychology (I really do have two degrees), I just have to ask you all this question … when you voted for Soarin’ yesterday, what version did you vote for?

Did you vote for the “old” edition that we all know and love?  Or, did you vote for the promise and excitement of a fully refurbished rendition already on its way?

I’d really like to know, so, please, leave a comment and give us the scoop!

OK, so what are we up to today?  Well, spread out over FOUR groups of FOUR attractions, each, we, now, have a “Sensational Sixteen”!

Unlike yesterday, today, you can vote for ONE attraction in each group.  The Top 2 finishers in each group will move on to Round #3!

Which of these will become the 2016 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction?  Only you know!  Go ahead!  VOTE!

Closed for Refurbishment? Uh, Oh! VOTE For Your Favorite Epcot Attractions!

Let’s dodge controversy from the very first post of this year’s campaign to elect an All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction, shall we?

What controversy, you ask?  Well, folks, in 2014, when referencing that year’s Animal Kingdom ‘competition’, I wrote:

“In short, [Festival of the Lion King] is currently closed, so Disney has pulled it from its web site.  Therefore, it misses this year’s “tourney”.  Controversial, I know, but it’s out of the game, nonetheless.”

Why do I dredge up this moldy fact, my friends?  Um, do you recall what attraction is Epcot’s defending champion?  Yes, it’s Soarin’.  Closed for refurbishment?  Uh, oh!

Then, mere days before this ‘tournament’ was set to kick off, the news broke that The Land’s Circle of Life attraction was also pushed to the sidelines.  Rumors are that it might not re-open at all!

Circle

What does Disney say?  Both attractions are listed in an Epcot-related section of their web site entitled, you guessed it, “Closed for Refurbishment”.  That’s what they say.

So, what do we do?  Precedent (think Festival of the Lion King) says that I should exclude both attractions.  Common sense says that Soarin’ has to defend its title!

Fans, breathe easy.  I am going to include your beloved defending champ in this year’s tourney.  Of course.  And, to be fair, since it is also listed with Soarin’, Circle of Life makes an appearance as well.  You decide whether or not they belong!

On to business, then.  What’s your task today?  I present FOUR groups of eight attractions, below.  You can vote for THREE attractions in each group.  Thats right.  Three!  The Top 4 finishers in each group will move on to Round #2!

Well, my friends?  Which attraction will become the 2016 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite Epcot Attraction?  Go ahead!  VOTE, vote, vote!
