An Epic Day! A Worthy “Champion”!

What an epic, epic day of voting!  And, with a vote not nearly as close as those we produced earlier in the “tournament”, what a fitting and worthy “champion”!

Do you want to know how a once-a-year event can beat out a beloved, treasured, vintage attraction like Haunted Mansion?  Uh, stole its “crown”, in fact?

When I get asked that question, I usually tell people to look at it this way … WDW food fanatics – like Mrs. All in WDW and I – actually schedule trips to Orlando to partake in Food & Wine.  As much as we love it, however, we don’t go out of our way to enjoy a turn through the “house of 999 haunts” on each and every trip.

Folks, I’ll say it.  Food & Wine ’14 is just 164 days away!  Hah.  This year’s “Food” & Garden festival is still far from over, and I already have a Food & Wine countdown?  Uh, have you ever been to Epcot’s premier event?  Of course I’m already counting the days!

Don’t get me wrong.  Haunted Mansion, Wishes, and Soarin’ are outstanding attractions.  For us, however, we don’t have to experience them on each and every trip.  We don’t plan trips to Disney just to enjoy them.  Yet, since we made our first leap into culinary paradise in 2011, we won’t miss a year of Food & Wine.

My friends, thank you, ever so much, for your support and votes this week. You truly turned this “competition” into an epic event in its own right.  The weekend was fiercely fought.  The polls were razor close.  Just like the NCAA basketball games upon which these “tourneys” are patterned.

In the end, though, you made your choice.  In my opinion, the right choice.  Amidst a phenomenal 174 finale votes, and after garnering the most support of any single attraction over the course of the entire weekend, the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival is the 2014 All in WDW Readers’ Favorite WDW Attraction!

Congratulations, champ.  It’s your turn to rule “The World”!

  1. It was so fascinating watching the votes coming in all day yesterday! At one point F&W was losing by four votes by Soarin’. It looked like
my favorite event was destined to fall short in it’s bid to upset the attraction heavy weight Soarin’! A late push by the eventual winner shows that the foodies like myself love their F&W! I guess this means lines at the food booths won’t be getting shorter anytime soon!
